My name is Matt and I have been playing all sorts of games since the early 80's with a few breaks here and there over the years. I began with Monopoly and Payday as many of kids did before graduating to more involved games. By the mid 80's I was hooked on Axis and Allies, Conquest of the Empire, and Dungeon. I owned many Avalon Hill classics but the rules were too involved for many of my friends so they did not get played. At this time I was trying any RPG I could get my hands on, D&D, Star Frontiers, Top Secret, Star Wars and DC Heroes to name a few. In the 90's during my college years I played a lot of CCG's like Magic, Star Trek the Customizable Card Game, and Star Wars.
In this blog I will talk mostly about the games I am currently playing which tend to be 2 player games as a matter of convenience. I play a pretty broad spectrum of boardgames but GMT's Combat Commander Europe has been making it to the table most lately. To give an idea of what I play I would list Dominion, Lost Cities, Arkham Horror, and Combat Commander as my current favorites.
For those looking for some good game podcasts I occasionally listen to Boardgames To Go, The Dice Tower, The Spiel, The D6 Generation and the missing in action classic, Geekspeak.
I am not sure how often I will be updating but I will make an effort to share a few thoughts after each gaming session.
Until next time, game gloriously!
