Time to present my Imperial Guard WIP. I am working on 3 detachments worth a total of 601 points for Warhammer Epic 40,000. They should be ideal for (demo) games among friends.
I've made little progression, but new paint has been applied. I have drybrushed a layer of 'Russian Green' over the Army Painter green basecoat.
Imperial Guard Infantry Detachment 201 points:
The Astra Militarum, or Imperial Guard, are all about infantry and artillery. This set of miniatures represents this well. Both Griffon Mortars together with the heavy weapons units will shoot down quite some enemies. (Note: forget about the Taurox Prime transport in the picture because that one does not belong to this detachment.)
Imperial Guard Tank Detachment 297 points:
The armoured fist of the Imperial Guard brings a massive amount of firepower. The enemy should fear this detachment. Seven Leman Russes with 3 firepower each... The Tauros (fast Hellhounds) are there as cannon fodder to absorb the first hits on this detachment.
Imperial Guard Infantry Detachment 103 points:
The Rough Riders are a truly iconic unit from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. I just had to add them. The sentinels are a standard addition to this unit, fast and agile "with a punch".
All units will receive a mix of dark green and lightbrown colors. Don't be misled by the white paste on the bases, I won't go for a Valhallan snow theme. These guys will be fighting on agri-worlds. Next thing to do is painting all tracks and weapons black. After that I'll start adding the lightbrown/ochre contrast color.
In this blog I'll talk about various miniature games. Custom miniatures and minor conversions are my favorite pastime. I'll cover scenery making and painting too. The WIP you'll see here is all about Necromunda, Epic 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy 5th Edition, Warmaster and Warhammer 40K 3rd Edition.
