Miniature Games Construction Yard

In this blog I'll talk about various miniature games. Custom miniatures and minor conversions are my favorite pastime. I'll cover scenery making and painting too. The WIP you'll see here is all about Necromunda, Epic 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy 5th Edition, Warmaster and Warhammer 40K 3rd Edition.

You play 6mm Epic games because you like the hordes of small tanks. But then there's always "bigger and better"... Boss over bosses... THE WAR ENGINES!
cool

I couldn't stop just building infantry and armour detachments. The call for war engines was to loud to resist. I had to add super heavies and titans.
modest

Following Po II Heavy Tank miniatures are from Mechwarrior: Dark Age (collectible miniatures game). They'll go into one Super Heavy Tank Detachment worth 330 points. These Shadowswords have Titan-busting Volcano Cannons, able to cause critical damage to war engines.

I am also preparing two massive Leviathan mobile command centres. They each can carry up to 6 infantry units in their armoured hull. A minor conversion was necessary to add a Mega-Cannon. These miniatures (also from Mechwarrior: Dark Age) came prepainted. They need little or no additional paint from me, they'll fit right in. However, I won't be able to use them a lot since the total cost equals 660 points.

And then there is the sinister Adeptus Mechanicus Ordinatus Mars. This Titan brings a massive Sonic Cannon to battle, able to totally disrupt enemy detachments. One shot rolls D6 dice. Each result of 4 or more adds a blast marker to the target. Now that's sabotage from a distance! For only 200 points, that's a bargain!

To end this blogpost I'll finish with a hobby tip. Many prepainted miniatures like Star Wars Miniatures and MechWarrior are deformed. The plastic weapons often bended and crippled. The barrel of my Mechanicus Ordinatus was pointing to the ground. The easy solution to fix this kind of deformation problems (like bent lightsabers from Star Wars Miniatures) is water. You need two cups. One with cold water. You may even add an ice cube or two. The other cup contains boiled water. (Pay attention, don't touch the steam or hot water with bare hands!) Submerge the bent part in the hot water for 10 seconds, reshape and immediatelly cool it down in the cold water. FIXED!
