This past Sunday, I attended the Osaka Game Market. I stood in line for 3 hours in the cold rain, and was only able to stay and shop for about an hour, but I think it was worth my time. I quickly spent a couple of hundred dollars and walked out with a nice new stack of interesting sounding games! It was my 2nd time attending this particular market, and I can already see that it's growing quite rapidly. Last year seemed busy, but that was at a smaller venue. This year, me and about 3000 of my closest friends were jam-packed into a nice sized venue, but even with the location change it was difficult to move at times.
I took a bunch of pics, so I'll let most of them speak for themselves. On Saturday, I wandered around Osaka, doing a little shopping at Kiwi Games, Yellow Submarine, and a few other shops I like. I always enjoy strolling around that part of Osaka...everything is so interesting looking!
Standing in the rain outside of OGM15. I arrived at about 7am and was probably 20th in line to get in when the doors opened at 10!

And here's an overall shot of the OGM at around 11am:
As with my purchases from last November's Tokyo Game Market, I'm planning to do mini reviews of as many of the OGM games that I picked up as possible. Last night, when I was showing my wife what I picked up on Sunday, she immediately grabbed and opened Cat Box. She's a big fan of Cat Tower, so she wanted to check out Aza Chen's latest creation. We played it once and we both really enjoyed it, so that will likely be my first mini review...hopefully later this week!
I'm also already making plans to attend the Spring Tokyo Game Market on May 5th. It's being held during Golden Week this year, so I won't even have to take vacation time! And if everything works out, my wife and I will get to enjoy about 5 days in Tokyo for the holidays! I'm really looking forward to it
(If I misspelled or mistranslated any of the names in this blog entry, please let me know and I'll fix it. My Japanese skills aren't always top notch, but I hope I can at least get the names of designers, publishers, and games right so I don't confuse any potential readers. Thanks!)
This is just a way to share and keep track of my gaming here on Shikoku Island in the Japanese countryside.
