Xenoshyft was an utter surprise this year. We returned from Gen Con to a port of an interesting deck building game. Honestly, this one did not impress out of the gate, but the team kept at it and now it an amazing port. The best board game ports are easy to use but also allow us to dive into a game we may not otherwise be able to. Xenoshyft has all these qualities in spades. Be sure to check it out. - Brad

Xenoshyft grew from a slapdash app to an amazing digital experience. It is a unique game the launched nearly simultaneously with its tabletop counterpart and gave us a view into this unique world. It is a hard game but rewarding. The app has had a long road, but it has grown into one of the standout experiences of 2015. - Brad

It's funny to note that the game of the year this year has not been mentioned in any other awards, but that may just be because it really only fit here. Card Crawl is an original digital board game experience. It is the solitaire dungeon crawler that has never really come together on the tabletop. Where others have failed, it has succeeded. It is the perfect playable mobile game whether it is in quick bursts or multiple runs. It is the best digital board game of the year, and that is why it is here. - Brad
