It was a few months I was expecting the release of Ticket to Ride - first journey Europe and I must say it is worth the wait!

Opening the box we find a board that shows a beautiful map of Europe and a dense rail network connecting the major cities of the old continent. The map is finely illustrated and each city is represented by its characteristic feature: the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the elf in Dublin, the Colosseum in Rome, etc ...

The goal is to be the first player to complete 6 tickets. During each round the player can do one of the following moves:
take possession of it,
draw two cards,
discard his two tickets and draw new ones.

The game is very fast and doesn't exceed 30 minutes. The only exception the first game will be a bit long and between the explaining and trying the first moves the game go on 40-50 minutes.

The beautiful Italian edition map of Ticket to Ride - Primo Viaggio, each city is represented by its symbol!

The first game impressions were very positive. I played several games with children between 5 and 10 years and all they asked me to play again and again.
The kids, even to the novice, are passionate rapidly to mechanical and always looking for new ways to be able to exploit their routes on the map.

Differences with Ticket to Ride

Compared to the older brother, the game has been greatly simplified.
First, the map is meant to be understood even by those who had not yet read. The drawings that represent the city are easily recognizable and guide the first-graders perform their moves.
The roads to the city are much less and their difficulty was dimunuita to facilitate the guys in the game.
Finally, the rules have been simplified in order to guide the child to focus on the goals.

Ticket to Ride - First Journey is a game characterized by an extreme simplicity of the rules, a period of very limited game, a good ability to set different strategies, and a good replay value.
I think it's not just a game intended for elementary school children but a great introduction to the world of board games for kids and families.
