Eight-Minute Empire Arrives For iOS/Android
Okay, it was kind of a running gag when I've been complaining about 2017 being just too good of a year for digital gaming, but this is getting ridiculous. Another week and another big release, this time it's Red Raven Games' fist foray onto the App Store with Eight-Minute Empire.

Eight-Minute Empire was developed by Acram Digital, the same guys behind the pretty great port of Martin Wallace's Steam: Rails To Riches. Eight-Minute Empire isn't nearly as heavy of a game, but it still has 3 levels of AI for solo play as well as both pass-and-play and asynchronous online multiplayer. It also has several extras available via IAP such as different maps and the Eight-Minute Empire: Mountains expansion.

Eight-Minute Empire is available for iOS Universal and Android, and will be coming to Steam for PC/Mac on September 10.

- Eight-Minute Empire for Android, $5
- Eight-Minute Empire for PC/Mac via Steam, Available Sept. 10

Armello is Finally Coming to Mobile
A long time ago we saw the first trailer for an original digital board game called Armello and it was important for a couple reasons. First of all, it was way over the top in terms of quality and closer to the kind of stuff we'd expect from Blizzard and their AAA titles. Secondly, it features anthropomorphic animals which opened all sorts of doors for furry envy jokes. It was everything I ever wanted in a trailer.

Back when Armello was just a work in progress, we spoke with developer League of Geeks and getting the game onto tablets was one of their prime objectives. Since it launched on PC, however, there have been countless updates and new content for the Steam version and no talk of a mobile port, leading us to think that, maybe, they had dropped it and were going to focus solely on PC and consoles.

Not so! At PAX this weekend, Touch Arcade spotted Armello running on an iPhone and League of Geeks confirmed what we were hoping for:

Armello for iOS will not be cross-platform with the Steam version, due to the PC/Mac version using Steamworks for online matching. That said, the iOS version will be free-to-download with all the extra content available via IAP. There is also an Android version on the way, but that won't be available until 2018.

No other info, yet, but we'll ping LoG and see if we can find any other information.

- Armello for PC/Mac/Linux via Steam, $20

Only 9 Days Until Through the Ages
I'm not usually one for hype, but we're less than two weeks away from Through the Ages: A New Story of Civilization hitting both the App Store and Google Play and it's about time the Hype Train left the station!

We learned a few things about digital TtA today, so let's share. First of all, the game will be arriving on September 14 for both iOS and Android and will cost $10. Secondly, it's worth $10 so I don't want to hear any complaining. Thirdly, I mean it, stop complaining.

That $10 gets you everything--the whole, glorious enchilada--without any IAP in sight. Here's a list of what that $10 gets you:

App features:
- Engaging tutorial.
- Hundreds of card combinations providing endless replayability.
- 3 levels of AI opponents for solo play.
- Online multiplayer asynchronous games.
- Ability to play with a friend online or on the same device.
- Original board game rules or a streamlined digital version.
- A dozen challenges requiring different strategies.

Each of those challenges also has multiple versions of it available, as well, making for far more than just 12 challenges. For example, if you beat a challenge it will unlock a more difficult version of that challenge that you can now undertake.

They also sent us some screenshots. We love screenshots!

Will we have more in the next 9 days? Probably. Maybe even a trailer or more. Prepare thyselves!
