WisconsinIn life you have to do a lot of things you don't f*cking want to do. Many times, that's what the f*ck life is... one vile f*cking task after another.
Mystic Vale gets Vale of Magic expansion
As proof that we're living in the Golden Age of digital board games, I offer you Mystic Vale.
Released by Nomad Games Ltd (II) less than a month ago, we've all moved on to other big board game releases like Evolution (2019) and the current target of our collective ire, The Castles of Burgundy. If a game with the name recognition and polish of Mystic Vale had arrived in 2013-2014, it would have been a major contender for GOTY. Instead, when news of the just released expansion landed, my first thought was, "oh, yeah...I forgot about that one." It's only been out for month, people! Either I'm spoiled beyond the dreams of avarice or my memory sucks [can I nominate both? -ed.]
Of course, part of the issue might be Mystic Vale's current platform list. It's currently only available for PC/Mac. Once the promised mobile version comes out, I can see it becoming lodged in my consciousness.
Anyway, those are my problems. The big news from Nomad is that the first expansion is now available! It's the Mystic Vale: Vale of Magic expansion and that means more cards! More cards! More cards! 72 new cards to be exact.Nomad wrote:Mystic Vale - Vale of Magic introduces 54 new advancement cards and 18 vale cards to the Mystic Vale base game, expanding players' options and opening up new crafting combinations.
This expansion is designed to be mixed straight into the base game.
'The forces of nature and Gaia's blessings are not enough to stop the curse from spreading throughout the Valley of Life. The druidic clans are now harnessing the power of arcane magic to repel the blight and heal the land. While arcane magic offers tremendous power, it can quickly overwhelm those who are unable to control it.'
You can nab the new content for $5 right now on Steam. We'll keep you up to date on any other expansion news or, more importantly, when we can expect to see Mystic Vale on our tablets.
- Mystic Vale for PC/Mac via Steam, $15
