One of the next novelties for next year 2020 in roll & write games is Unlocking Insanity: Dice Vermiis Mysteriis, a horror-themed game in the world of Lovecaraft and Cthulhu, something that is not very common in this genre so far.

Players are aspiring cultists in the growing Cthulhu Cult. As you continue your indoctrination, you must show that you can handle the teachings of the Great Old Man. You can go crazy, or maybe just get a touch of madness, but as long as you show you have the greatest mastery, you will be victorious.

In Unlocking Insanity: Dice Vermiis Mysteriis , each player tries to place the dice results in the most efficient way possible. Each turn, you must place a positive dice result (your mastery of indoctrination training) and also negative dice results (your growing madness). The game ends after someone fills all their positive or negative spaces.

Your positive scores (from each positive row) are subtracted from your negative scores (from your negative brain spaces) and the player with the highest overall score wins.

Designed to be played between 2 and 5 players with games of about 30 minutes and recommended for 10+ of age.

It will be published by Petersen Games that usually takes out games of this Cthulhu theme.
