Sonny Strait brought his considerable artistic skills to the groundbreaking first edition of the Legends of Wrestling card game. His ability to draw both comic book art and portraits made him the perfect choice for the reality-based wrestling game.
Tom met Sonny at a comic book convention in Columbus, Ohio, making the long trip from his home in Denton, Texas. Actually, if not for Tom's son, Alex, the two might never have met. Alex was a huge fan of the hit cartoon, DragonballZ, and Sonny was the voice of one of the main characters, Krillin. Alex played the DragonballZ collectible card game with Sonny at the convention and hung out with Mr. Strait long enough to find out what a great artist he is.
Ever loyal to the GWF, Alex reported to his dad that Sonny was a hot artistic prospect. Sonny got a chance to visit with Tom at the con and the rest is history!
Sonny brings a distinct style to the Legends playing cards. Professional wrestler, Cowboy Bob Orton saw some of the cards and wrote to Tom, "Your artwork is great." Sonny produced card art for the first four Legends game editions.
