Richard David Shepherd, CBE, FRSA (born April 25, 1931 in Hendon, London, England) is a British artist from East Grinstead, West Sussex, who is one of the world's most outspoken conservationists. He is most famous for his paintings of wildlife, although he also often paints trains, aircraft, and landscapes. He has written five books about his art and is also a collector of steam locomotives. He has raised more than £3 million towards conservation since 1960 along with supporters of the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.
His painting of Arnhem Bridge was used as the cover artwork for the game Arnhem: The Farthest Bridge.
