A native of Florida, Nicole Rosseland grew up in Jacksonville having an interest in art at a very early age. In 1990 she attended the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia as an illustration major. Unhappy with the often rigid guidelines that illustration imposed, Nicole left college in 1993 and moved to Sarasota, Florida to pursue a more personal path in her art. This is when she began to dedicate herself to figurative painting while honing her talent and developing a somewhat classical yet surreal style that would become her trademark.
Nicole would return to Savannah in 1998 to continue her education, this time majoring in painting while also developing a keen interest in photography. She graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in March of 2000 with a Bachelors degree in Fine Art. She now resides in St. Marys, Georgia where she works out of her private studio, which is adjacent to the gallery that represents her work, Picture This Fine Art Gallery. Nicole describes her recent work as realism mixed with a bit of obscurity and hopes to one-day travel to Europe to photograph and paint the birthplace and embodiment of true Classicism.
