From designer's Kickstarter page:'
My name is Ruth Alexandra (Ditto) Nowakoski. I wear many hats- I'm an artist. I'm a portrait painter, my pictures hang all over the world. I'm a musician, a songwriter and singer. I'm an artisan, I run a successful house painting company in Seattle. I'm a mom. And I'm an inventor. My game may be my most cosmic creative effort, because I didn't ask for it, it just came. Then one day my son Lincoln said to me, "Mom, you need to market that game."
I've lived a colorful life in "interesting times". As an adult I've lived and worked in Providence, New York, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Taos, and Seattle.
I'm interested in communication and communion. I hold a degree, Phi Beta Kappa, in Linguistics from Columbia University. I'm also interested in creating things out of nothing. I've built a business with my two hands, I've painted hundreds of paintings and hundreds of houses, I've written 40 or 50 songs, I've raised a child, and somehow or other I invented CanCan. I say that it's cosmic, and it just came to me, but CanCan grew out of the passion to commune with the world which has informed all my artistic pursuits. I even made a Kickstarter video!! Swag. (thanks to jeremy).
I’m an artist. I’m not a “gamer”, I never liked games as a child. They stressed me out! So why did the universe decide that I should be the vehicle for a board game? Maybe because I can represent the "quiet" people out there, the ones who don't actually want to crush, hoard or own you. The ones who like to look out the window and dream, and make stuff up. The artists and inventors. The ones who rock the world, actually. We do exist, there are lots of us. I made a game for us.
