Hi, this is Ta-Te :) I was born in Taiwan, and my first hobby game is Axis and Allies played in 1986.
First game ever designed ... hmmm, I remember that I used to make puzzle and mystery games, etc, back in elementary school and forced everyone to play. Any yeah, my first 'Monopoly' type game was made in the middle school. I did it overnight and never get to play it (it is mostly monopoly ... ).
College ... attended University of the Pacific, majored in Psychology. Love the school. I took psychology becaues I wanted to know about who we are and specifically more about myself. While in school, I became much better in fine art and graphic design, and I took interest in business operation and strategic. Still love psychology, just didn't do as well as I expected.
After college, I operated a computer mail order company for 7 years ... it was a really nice seven year before the industry went down hill. I also published my first board game 'Stock Tycoon' which was a total disaster. Note, my version of 'Stock Tycoon' is not listed on BGG.
In early 2000, I taught computer application, graphic design, etc. at Gardena High School for 2.5 years. While teaching, I took pastel, toy design and board game design classes at Otis. The instructor for board design class was Keith Meyers, and he gave us a lot of important lessons and information on the industry. Thanx Keith.
In 2005, I began to travel and published four family games in between 2005-2007. In 2008, I published Tien Zi Que and Mountain of Inferno and Soccer Sonic in 2009.
In 2010, four games were published ...
Tien Zi Que by Z-Man Games
Mountain of Inferno by Z-Man Games
Poker Face by Cross Circle Games, China
Expo Traveller by Full Game, China
In 2011, two games were published ...
Shadow Masters by Qmond, China
Mountain of Inferno 2 by Game Design Magazine, China
Also in 2011, I taught six board game design classes in mainland China and Hong Kong
In 2012, so far ...
Di Renjie funded by Kickstarter
The Battle of Red Cliffs ... few days to go and it does not look too good ...
Plus, Origami Card Holder, Di Renjie (2nd Ed.), Mines of the Sacred Dragon, and Shadow Masters by Game Salute.
