Jason Coffey (born in 1975) is the Vice President of the Las Vegas Wargamers, and a History major. He has been gaming for over 25 years in the southwest United States.
Over the years he has done a variety of playtesting, demonstration games, and submissions for Steve Jackson Games (Car Wars and OGRE line), Last Unicorn Games (Star Trek line), FanPro (Battletech line), Two Hour Wargames, Hawgleg Publishing (GUTSHOT!), Mongoose Publishing (Starship Troopers, Battlefield Evolution line, and A Call to Arms line), Catalyst Games (Battletech and Leviathan lines), Rattrap Publications, and A.D. Publishing (Battlefield Evolution: GearKreig).
He got his feet wet working on LUG's unreleased "Battle of Wolf 359" Starship Combat game, doing much of the playtesting, secondary design, and starship stats till the company shut down. Jason then had a long time involvement with MGP's "A Call to Arms" and "Battlefield Evolution" ranges. He got to work as a demonstrator, demo team supervisor, playtester, secondary designer, scenario writer, content writer, and many other auxiliary duties for the company.
Jason's first major project was a 2009-2010 contract for Petroglyph Games under Chuck Kroegel, as a Designer on both the "Panzer General: Allied Assault" XBOX Live title, as well as the Boardgame of the same name. Ironically the actual prototyping for the XBOX Live title "Panzer General: Allied Assault" was done as a boardgame. He also oversaw the gathering and selection of photographs used throughout the product, along with the historical accuracy of the digital models. He was briefly brought back to consult for "Panzer General: Russian Assault" with the photographs.
In 2010 he joined with his friend, Thomas Adams, to form Monomer Games a new non-electronic tabletop game company. It specializes in Miniature games, and the first of those is a Co-Operative play title called "Zombie-A-Go-Go". It is designed to be the start of a unique family of Co-Operative play miniature games.
Starting in 2017, Jason has joined the team at GobboTown Games to produce a new 28mm Monster Skirmish game called XOTHIC WARS. It is based on H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, and is set in the far past after the Earth was formed when these Alien Monsters walked about in the light and fought each other for control of what was to become our world. The company was able to release for sale its first wave of locally produced Miniatures in January of 2018.
He enjoys writing scenarios, building his miniatures & terrain, and taking pictures of miniature games - both of which are featured in his products.
