Lucy Dittmar Hammett of Austin, Texas came up with the idea of Texas Bingo while playing Loteria, a Mexican picture bingo game, with her children, Holden and Maggie. She was inspired to elaborate on this concept by combining art, culture, and information with the fun, kid-friendly aspects of a competitive board game.
An art major from the University of New Mexico, Lucy is passionate about art and personally designs each game. The illustrations on games like Bug Bingo, Nature Bingo, and Texas Bingo are her own.
"It's all about art," Lucy says - "and nature, fun, family, and learning!" As a mom, Lucy says, she became tenacious about quality educational products that families could fall in love with.
Lucy says, "The biggest joy in my business is receiving letters from children and grandparents. I love hearing how fun and informative the games are!"
Entrepreneur magazine has described Lucy as "one of the more successful board game innovators of the decade."
