Managing Director, Lead Designer and Lead Artist of Joyride Games.
Jamie graduated with a first class animation honours degree in early 2011, after art directing short film D’ARK, and moved straight into working with Axis Animation in Glasgow, Scotland, where he produced assets, concept art and matte paintings for animations commissioned by well-known video games companies such as Capcom and Sony. In late 2011 Jamie created 2D assets for Sony’s Playstation 3 game based on the Harry Potter books of J.K.Rowling – Book of Spells.
In 2012 he launched a Kickstater campaign for a card game of his own design, Jackpot!, which was successful and raised a little over £5,700. Jackpot! was released commercially in late December 2013.
Jamie went on to work as a part of the art team at 4J studios in Dundee, Scotland, on the console versions of Mojang's hit game Minecraft between 2013 and 2015.
In mid-2015 Jamie re-emerged onto the board game scene with a new Kickstarter for a pixel art card game (inspired by his work on Minecraft) called 'Random Encounter'. The game fell just short of the £10,000 goal but was then quickly picked up by IDW Games. There are now two versions of the game on the market, published by IDW Games in collaboration with Joyride Games named: Random Encounter: Plains of the Troll King and the standalone sequel Random Encounter: Seas of the Sea Chicken.
Jamie now works as a full-time mobile games designer at Outplay Entertainment in Dundee, Scotland. He has also recently collaborated again with IDW Games on their board game adaption of the Atari arcade classics game Atari: Centipede.
