After 15 years of playing and selling games, Mike started working at Wizards of the Coast in 1999 initially in game support. As the Pokemon TCG took off in popularity, Mike became the Community Manager and later the Organized Play Manager for it(he was known as "Master Trainer Mike"). In addition he helped design several of the later theme decks and created the original Pokemon Professor Program.
After the Pokemon license moved from Wizards of the Coast, Mike was the Program Manager for Organized Play for the Harry Potter TCG, Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures, and Avalon Hill board games where he designed the 4 expansions released for RISK 2210. Mike designed 3 other expansions for RISK 2210 and 2 for ACQUIRE that were never released before the Frontline program was ended.
Mike then moved on to design and support several organized play programs for WotC including Magic Player Rewards, The Duel Masters Fan Club, newsletters for MPR and the RPGA, and he created the Delegate program (a fan product demo support program).
After a 2 year stint designing and managing the Guild Wars World Championships and tournament series amongst other projects (Guild Wars e-store, Xunlai Tournament House) at ArenaNet, Michael is now back at Wizards of the Coast as a Program Manager for Organized Play and Marketing for their digital games division.
