The Panzer Grenadier series covers platoon-level combat from the 1930's to the early 1950's, with the primary focus on World War Two. The game scale is 200 meters / hex and 15 min / turn, units are leaders, tank and infantry platoons, heavy weapons batteries, and occasionally aircraft and support vessels.
The series launched in 1998, with Panzer Grenadier: The East Front. It has become one of the most popular game series produced by Avalanche Press Ltd., with over a dozen boxed games published supported by many book/folio supplements.
