Åhlén & Åkerlund, or Åetå was founded in 1906 as Julstämmnings Förlag before changing name in 1915 and subsequently (1929) being bought-up by major publishing house of Bonniers. Today the name is Bonnier Magazines & Brands, having been called Bonnier Tidskrifter before.
For some reason the Bonnier Group was awarded licensing rights for the Monopoly game (Monopol in Swedish) and choose subsidiary Åhlén & Åkerlund to publish it in Swedish in 1937. Only a year later Bonniers decided to move Monopoly to Alga, another Bonnier subsidiary. This move was probably the push that would eventually lead Alga to become a proper games publishing house.
A few other games were published by this company, occasionally under the slogan "Ett Åetå-spel" ("An Å et Å-game").
