The game publisher Drechsler, was one of the biggest board game publishers in Denmark. They started out as a printing company under the name C. Drechsler Papirtrykkeri in Glostrup near Copenhagen.
In 1936 Carl Drechsler published the board game Matador, which was a redesign of Monopoly. Drechsler also produced and published other known games such as Checkers, Bingo, Lotto and more. But they are mainly known for Matador.
Drechsler was closed down in the 1970s and Brio AB bought the rights for Drechsler's publishings which they published under a new brand called Joker.
