From the back of the box:

This hilarious game of steady nerves and skilful practice is fascinating for children and adults alike. Flick the cups from your 'hand' into the playing net to score the most points.

A classic favourite that is warmly recommended for amusement at social gatherings, evening parties and everyday family fun.

Hopla is exceedingly amusing when played by a number of persons as cups go flying about with the intention of landing in the playing net. Everyone will find themselves roaring with laughter and amusement.

From the rulebook:

A dexterity game for children and adults alike. Players flip small cone-shaped paper "cups" from a hand-shaped lever, trying to land them inside a net in a space that will afford them the most points. Scores are added using the points grid in the net.

The player with the highest number of points in a pre-determined number of rounds, or the player who first reaches a pre-determined score, is the winner.
