CHEX is a classic gem first published in 1982. This new edition will contain 32 tiles made of 8mm thick and 25mm side black and 'ice' acrylic, laser-engraved and painted. The tiles will be similar to those of Myrmidons (also fueled in nestorbooster) or Tiledeck. The main novelty is that it'll use 'ice' acrylic with black paint for the white tiles. The quality of the tiles is simply amazing, but the production process is expensive and time-intensive, so the publisher has decided to fuel it through nestorbosoter.
CHEX is kind of a boardless chess, where tiles are randomly drawn and then placed on the table adjacent to other tiles. But you can also move already placed tiles. A move must be a legal chess move and may not separate any element of the board. Thus you can "pin" a piece by placing a new piece touching it on a far corner, so the "pinned" piece can't move. The game ends in checkmate or stalemate. It's a stalemate if you cannot place your king except into check when you draw it.
