The 11×11 board is of linen cloth and rolled up in the box. The pieces (king, 12 defenders and 24 attackers) are unusually detailed, being inspired by the Lewis chessmen and made in a material made to resemble the walrus ivory from which those are carved.
For those who have font support for runes, the name of the game as given on the box is ᚼᚾᛂᚠᛅᛏᛅᚠᛚ (with a transliteration into Latin letters below). Highly unusually, the runes are used correctly, and are relevant to the place and age (though one variant rune used is only attested from the very last part of the viking age).
