The Games Workshop license

Games Workshop redid all the art for the game, using Gary Chalk of Talisman and Lone Wolf gamebooks fame. The room tiles are smaller than in the original, being only 35x35mm (confirmation needed). Art-wise, the room tiles are more yellowish and have less colour variation than the original.

Games Workshop did something very special with the card decks, forming the Door cards as doors, and the Crypt cards (Chest cards) as coffins. The Treasure deck became treasure tokens instead, as did the Dragon cards. The name of the heroes also changed: Aelfric Browncape became Volric the Brave, Sir Rohan became Sir Roland, Sigeir Sharp-axe became Ulv Grimhand and Bardhor Bowman became El-Adoran Sureshot.

Erratta

The early print run had an error on a Door card.

  • Door Card Trap; Damage: D6-3-Luck, Should Read; Damage: D6+3-Luck.
