Description Edit | History

Befitting HABA's roots as a wood manufacturing company, both the mice and bowl of this early German-English version are made of wood. While the mice are plain and painted, the bowl is made of a remarkably fine-grained and clear-coated hardwood.

The use of "Made in Western Germany" on the box together with the bilingual rules suggests an early post-war publication aimed at occupying Western troops or early export efforts. After the formation of the German Federal Republic in 1949, the country was known in English as "West Germany", but this may have taken a few years to standardize, so the likely date for this edition is 1946-55.
