Description Edit | History

The cover of this box shows that copyright was granted to West & Lee Game Co. in 1875, and identified the publisher, Noyes & Snow of Worcester, Mass., as "Successors to West & Lee Game Co."

The backs of this Noyes & Snow Lost Heir edition bear the same logo as can be seen on the backs of West & Lee's 1874 game Court. It therefore seems likely that the copyrighting of Lost Heir game and takeover of West & Lee occurred in close sequence. (Either the cards had already been produced and Noyes & Snow simply printed a new box cover, or Noyes was saving money by printing Lost Heir cards on leftover West & Lee stock.)
