A fun classic family game theme'd with the iconic London font. Exclusive to London Transport Museum.
London’s timeless and iconic lettering – the Johnston typeface – was created a century ago for London Underground and since its introduction it has come to represent not just transport but the idea of London.
In the 100th year of the introduction of Edward Johnston’s it was an easy decision to commission a wide range of typeface decorated products to celebrate the centenary.
Perhaps the crowning achievement of LTM’s contribution to this event has been to commission SCRABBLE TM to produce a Limited Edition of the world famous game with Johnston letters on the tiles and a specially engraved wooden box. Apart from the Scrabble trademark, all the components of the game and its box are set in Johnston which makes for a particularly special Limited Edition.
The game retails for £49.99. The wood used for the box is Hemlock, and this has been chosen form the various options available to mirror the wooden finishes on buses, trains and stations that were in common use in between the 1930’s and 1970’s.
The Edition is restricted to 2016 (not certificated) pieces.
