Description Edit | History

This is a very early version of the game; so early, that its rules show that originally, players were allowed to call for cards of any book, whether or not they already had a card in that book. The rules mention the restriction (which later became a standard rule) as a possible option to be agreed in advance, but suggest "the game will be more animated without it".

This addition also uses the spelling "Shakspeare" for Shakespeare, which was the accepted spelling from the mid-1700s to the mid-1800s.
