His most stolid foe, Tsarist Russia, sends its massive army lumbering across the Vistual River into Europe proper. Even Sweden foregoes one hundred years of peace to join them. Draining every reserve the French Empire has left, he gathers his loyal Poles, Italians, Saxons and Rhinelanders and strikes before they can concentrate. He defeats them at Lutzen, and then at Bautzen, and then again at Dresden. These are not complete victories his desperation demands, however. His strenght sapped, his army recoils to the vicinity of Leipzig. 175,000 strong, he prepares for another lunge -- but Europe senses his weakness. Like wolves, his enemies surround the place and converge....
