Description Edit | History

This deluxe version of Scrabble is packaged in a red leatherette case with a snap closure on the outside. The name of the game is stamped in gold on the inside of the lid. Other differences between this version and the standard edition are that the gameboard is bound in red leatherette rather than black cloth, the tiles are made of bakelite rather than wood, and the tile racks are made of dark, walnut-grained bakelite rather than wood and have built-in scorecards with clear plastic pegs for keeping track of the score. The instruction book is the same as in the standard version, the most recent copyright date is 1953.
