Just obtained this and very impressed with physical components and game system. More depth of play than may be first apparent as 'AI' needs shown a measure of respect.

Really interesting system especially for actions/orders. Plays faster than rule book size would lead one to believe.

I remember being rather disappointed with this despite anticipation of release due to added complexity and the rather awful (IMHO) Infantry counter graphics. Nice scenarios though. One can see why update to ASL was required

Fun abstract naval game with cheap and nasty components

Great game with decent components. Battle resolution bit simple (buckets of dice) but works well within system giving rise to lots caution/risk decisions. Card deck generates some nice touches without dominating the game. Highly replayable (despite being bit unbalanced towards Bourbons) Added bonus is its high suitability for Vassal play.

Absolutely addictive game. I thought at first blush it would be too simple a system for scope of game but far from it as it really generates a nice sense of history alongside the excellent gameplay. Never thought The Russian Campaign could be bettered but this surely trumps it. GMT version has excellent components too

Great game on a very interesting period of Ww2 on EStern Front. Nice components and good gameplay. Two sides have different aims and capabilities. Some interesting 'chrome' without bogging the game down. Lots of opportunities for manoeuvre in the innovative turn sequence. Nice to see an East Front game that has Soviets in the ascendancy right from the start

Area - Impulse system that plays really well. Maybe not so much fun as Russians as pretty much reactive only to German actions. But it does give a good 'feel' for Stalingrad. Super map
