Persian Incursion Repair Charts 1.1.xls (57 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
Charts to speed up repair rolls with Persian Incursion. To use:

1) Determine the number of aircraft needing repair for a given maintenance level (First through Fourth)

2) Find the appropriate chart and the column corresponding to the number of aircraft needing repair.

3) Roll 2D6 and add the totals together.

4) Find the row corresponding to the 2D6 roll and cross-reference with the column found in (2). The result is the number of aircraft repaired.

To generate these, I used a computer model to calculate the probability of repairing a certain number of aircraft given a certain number of total broken aircraft and a given maintenance level. Once I had those numbers, I fit them as best I could to a 2D6 bell curve by a lot of manual fiddling. (Cue Jason Statham in The Italian Job- "And it's such a mystery why you don't have a girlfriend".)

This leads to the major caveat on these charts- I had to fiddle the numbers a bit to make them fit on the bell curve. Usually it's just a few percentage points either way, and I tried to break in the direction of making probable events more probable while making outliers less likely. In other cases, though, it's more, and could skew results quite a bit. So, if you're doing some serious think-tank type gaming with PI you probably shouldn't use these charts, and above all you shouldn't mix the regular method of doing aircraft repairs with these charts in the same game. They're related and give similar results, but if one side is using one method and the other another, it's going to skew the results.

Bottom line- use at your own risk, and have fun.
