Yeah, lots of people make House Rules. I've playtested these and after about 5 games, I wouldn't play with anything else.
They are simply modifications including:
- Earning Tokens for fighting Capital Ships
- Earning variable VP for controlling systems (aka Catan like VP add on)
- Additional Tech card each round.
Since my group has used these House rules the game has gone from okay to fantastic. We are more aggressive, less likely to turtle and each game has nail biting victories. The Expansionist VP really make it so war and conquering is a very viable thing.
Anyway, I would recommend that you give this a whirl and lemme know what you think.
