Summenor Wars - Wasteland Variant:
This is a new idea I had for a four-player game of Summenor Wars. The idea is based off of the board game “Last Night on Earth”. In that game the center of the board’s squares are a lot larger than the outside ones. For the Wasteland variant you add a three by three board with each square being 7 ¼ inches by 7 ¼ inches. You put the new board in the middle and put four normal boards around it. This new board represents a field dividing the armies. The reason the spaces are so large is because it’s assumed that the units are running/sprinting across the field.
The rules for the Wasteland variant are the same as normal Summoner War with a few exceptions.

Wasteland Rules:
1)Winning:
Unlike other four player Summoner Wars games, Wasteland is not a team variant. Each player must defeat all other summoners to win the game.
2)Rewards:
When a player kills an enemy summoner that player gets the entire enemy’s magic as a reward.
3)Movement:
Units can be in the same space and move though the wastelands like any other space, one for one. Inside the wasteland, units can move on to or past ally or enemy units within the same space.
Only four total units can be on the same Wasteland space at the same time. Units can still move through a fully occupied Wasteland space.
4)Combat:
Inside the Wastelands melee units can only engage in combat when in the same space. Units in the Wasteland can attack an enemy outside it. Likewise units outside out the Wasteland can attack in.
Range units can attack the same as in the normal game. Even across the Wasteland, the ranged units can shoot two spaces. As each Wasteland space is adjacent to two normal spaces, on one or two sides, range units can choose to shoot down either of them. Range units cannot shoot through ally or enemy units.
5)Walls:
No walls can be placed in the Wasteland. The only exception would be the vine walls. Units can move through a Wasteland space with only one vine wall without taking penalties, but if there are two or more vine walls on a Wasteland space than normal vine wall rules apply. A vine wall is considered to be one unit for the sake of unit counting within a Wasteland space.
