I can't believe I'm making a "help with my game order" list...

I've always enjoyed reading these types of lists, but I've also always thought they couldn't possibly be that helpful. Just buy what you want and be done with it, right?

But, now I feel compelled to make one for myself. Basically, I have $150-$175 I'd like to turn into a new batch of games, and I haven't ordered games in quite some time. I recently scratched my collector's itch by picking up Taj Mahal, Chinatown and Dungeon Twister + expansions (French), so now I'm looking at spending this new money on grabbing titles from the last year or so that haven't really had time to weather the ages.

Thus, my dilemma: Are these games worthwhile, or not? Are some of them unnecessary in light of the others, and I'm not aware of it? Most seem to have average to high geek scores--in the 6.8 to 7.4 range--so nothing's begging to be purchased, but I'd like to make a large purchase that sort of catches me up for the time being. The list of games below prices out at approx. $218 at Boards and Bits, and I'd like to whittle it down to the price range mentioned above.

I'm also completely open to the posssibility that I'm completely mismanaging this money and should spend it on different games entirely. The theme of this order was to pick up as many $15 to $25 games as possible, but I'd consider looking at other options, too. Thanks for any comments!

Okay, honestly, this game is the biggest reason for this purchase, and I don't think I'll be swayed away from it. However, if you have something negative to say, let it all hang out!

I see this is Alea, but I don't know if it's a big box game or not. The price leads me to suspect not.

I've been dying to pick this up just for the swanky treasure chest box. Any reasons I shouldn't?

This was recommended by a fellow gamer, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Don't really know anything about it, so I'm throwing it in here for additional comments.

I ran across Candamir at my FLGS and was surprised I hadn't heard of it before. I like Settlers, but I've not really been interested in any of the existing permutations beyond the original (we don't even own Seafarers). This looks like something different and fun, though. Is it?

This one's getting included since it's Knizia. I'm worried that it will be a forgettable filler game, though. Palazzo is also on this list, of course, and for some reason I feel like I'm duplicating myself here. That's probably unfounded--it's just a gut feeling.

Okay, 6 nimmt! is not new. I recognize this. But, it's cheap and I've been meaning to pick it up since my wife loves card games. I'd be looking at the tin version, btw.

Another not so old game, and also another purchase for my wife. Don't think I can go wrong with this one, but maybe there's something better currently out for two players. Anyone?

This game feels like it belongs in the list with Palazzo and Tower of Babel. I know they have nothing in common, really, but I've seen them as the trio of new Euro games I'd be likely to buy for quite some time. My worry, again, is that they will end up being dry or forgettable--you know, a "been there, done that" vibe.

I know nothing about it. I really like Alan Moon, though, and Tom Vasel's recent review earned it a spot on this list.

Okay, this game is not really part of the order, and it certainly raises the price beyond $218. But, I'm including it because it's another direction I could go with this money and I'm a bit torn. B&B has it in stock for $74.99 and I'm wondering if I should bite. I have Aladdin's Dragons already, and I've heard they're pretty similar, so I don't want to purchase something this expensive if it won't really be a new experience. On the other hand, some people seem to really like it--despite the similarities. What's your opinion?
