I have always wondered what game game designers like best, that they created. I know that game designers probably have to play the games that they create, so there is a good chance that they have a biase towards one of their games. Seeing as there are a ton of game designers on BGG I desided to make a geeklist for designers to post on.

So if you are a game designer please post your favorite game that you designed and why it is your favorite game.
P.S. unfortunatly I'm not a game designer so I can't start off the list with a game, sorry.

Slightly Cheeky, but my Auction Variant is the best game I have designed so far. Of course, credit for the base game isn't mine at all.

One of the most recent ones, the most translated, the most played. The one I'm most thinking of in terms of expansions and new kits. I like most of my games:

But this one at the moment is my favorite...

This is my latest, so this is my favorite. I suppose other designers have said the same for many reasons. For me, I design the exact game that I like, and that I want to play. And everyone's preferences shift slightly over time. So my latest design most reflects what I'd like to play now.

And by the way, Conquest of Paradise won't get published without more pre-orders. So if your tastes in a game are similar to mine, pre-order it, and we'll see it published!

While Tahuantinsuyu is my favorite game in print, Boomerang Buggies is my true favorite. I will have to update this list in the fall of 2006.

It's really hard to say. It's not necessarily the last one, but it really depends on my mood. It could be almost all of them, depending on my mood. Probably either Knightmare Chess, Citadels or Fist of Dragonstones. Let's say the latter, since it's the lowest rated of the three, and it didn't sell as well as the two others - which I find unfair.

I'm sure I could give you another list next week.

This is not quite an easy choice. I'm becoming really, REALLY fond of Battle Beyond Space, and over time I MIGHT start liking it better than this.

Nah, maybe not.

Zauber Stauber is my third published game after Fette Autos and Feurio and it is my favorite because I started with a simple idea and - seemingly effortless - I got a simple game with a unique mechanism that all the same was challenging and fun to play.

Apart from this - it is my first design nearly immediately accepted by a big german publisher :-)

Not the piecepack itself, but one of the games I've made that can be played with it, Piece Packing Pirates, is my favorite among my own games so far. It's not on the BGG as a separate entry, nor does it need to be, but you can read the rules here:

Well, this is my only published one at the moment so I'll stick with that!

I do actually have quite a few designs in the can; some of them for a long time and a couple rather recent. Topics vary from a single-map WWII ETO game, Market-Garden (call it an upgrade to SPI's 'Arnhem'), a tactical Pelileu, and a new "Euro" that I've just started work on. Then there was the Middle Earth game that I was working furiously on before the first film came out - there are actually some striking similarities between it and 'War of the Ring' (strictly coincidence) but a divorce interupted the work on it so it went into a drawer, and there it will almost certainly stay. The cards were done (inspired by Mark Herman's CDG system games), the area-movement map complete. Combat was Risk-based.

I also have much of the OOB and unit strength work done on a possible Cobra expansion to DDTGC.

I'd have to say Lockhaven. I've had many exciting games playing this at family get togethers. It is funny to see how many times older folks stop by and ask "When are you going to publish it?". My response is always "It's not that easy". My other games get played from time to time, but the anguish this game causes when played makes it asked for quite often.
