This is probably the item on my list that's gonna make people go "the hell?" How did I manage to grow up a geek in the American suburbs and never play this game? Maybe I did and I don't remember. I remember playing the Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids game, for pete's sake, but not this absolute classic.

This was released in 1989. By that year I was back in college, so it could be argued that this is why I don't have fond memories of playing this game, unlike pretty much everyone else on BGG. And yet, at about that time I was buying Talisman and all its expansions from Little Wars in Baton Rouge. So close to HeroQuest...and yet so far. I've never played it.

Another one that I'm almost too ashamed to put on the list. Never played it. I don't know how to play it. I think I'd probably even like it. No idea how I've never just picked up a set and learned. I'm gonna download the rules right now.

Perhaps not quite as shocking a failure, but it seems like every gamer (RPG and board) that I know has played this at some point in their life except me. I know I had a computer version of it that I goofed around with, but I never played in earnest or bothered to learn the rules. I think I'd hate the game, actually, but I can't believe I've never played it.

Been meaning to play this one for a long time now, but still haven't gotten around to it. I did almost buy a copy of it recently though, which would have gotten me one step closer to actually playing it. It seems like I'd enjoy it, but may not have the time to fully appreciate it.

That's right folks. I can never find more than 1 other person that has any interest in playing a more complex game. So all of my heavier games tend to only be 2-player.
It's sad isn't it?

I'll have to get it some day though. I hear the 2 player variant isn't too bad.

Shame.

This is one of my greatest shames, apart from the other scandals that I can't talk about it for legal reasons. Despite all of the good things I have heard about it and having a gaming guru who owns it, I have never played Titan.

This one was on the top of the list for me to try to find and play for years. Finally, I ended up at a friends house and saw it on the shelf. I begged him to play it. He said it was his older brother's and too complex (we were in 4th grade). I think I could have handled it, but we played Joust on the Atari 2600 instead. Not a horrible time, but I'd go on to play many more games of Joust and I still wish we had played Dark Tower instead.

It had lights and buttons on it for Pete's Sake! It looked like a video game in the form of a board game. What more could you want in the early '80's!?

I got introduced to Eurogames via Carcassonne, and I've never played Settlers. Likely never will, either, given that I'm the only one I know who buys games and I've no great desire to try it from what I know of it.

The only higher ranked game I haven't played is Warmachine. But I don't know that that should qualify as a classic. One of these days I'll get a copy of this. I've been tempted a couple of times.

I've tried, but failed. I bought the game a s a gift to a friend, who then proceeded to move some 500 miles away to the north and whom I haven't seen since.I really want to try it. Anyone think it might be a good game?

Not necessarily this game in particular, but I chose it because I owned it at one time. Despite that fact, I've never played any hex-and-counter wargames. I bought NATO way back in 83 to try out a game of this type and ended up giving it to a wargamer who would enjoy it instead of having it sit on a shelf.
