Getting victory points during your opponents' turns

The other day, I played two games (first two on this list) where players could score victory points for themselves during their opponents' turns. In fact, I purposely manipulated this mechanic in those first-time games for me in order to do well.
So, what games out there have this mechanic built in?

We played with the Windmill and I had a ranger in the lead position on the windmill track. I must've scored 30+ points this way when others were scoring regions. I also placed quite a few rangers at 3-way intersections when I couldn't score the regions myself. I racked up TONS of points this way and nearly won my first time playing this game.

In my first-time game of Clans, I NEVER scored a single coin for myself, yet I ended the game in 2nd, only 1 point behind the leader.

The Wharf in Puerto Rico is the single most valuable building (to a shipper) IMO because it lets them ship whenever someone else picks the captain. And, the Factory lets builders rack up bucks (and buy MORE buildings) when shippers are crafting, enabling a builder to end the game before the shippers get too many VP chips.

Once you built a house with a special function (it's yours) any other player who is using this function makes you gain a prestige (victory) point.

You score points in someone else's turn if he finishes something you've got a meeple in. The gold in the forests of Hunters & Gatherers make this happen every now and then. (As well as the fact that sometimes, several players are on the same feature).

If someone decides to auction an Artista card during his turn, you can score points if you win the auction.

Rare, but sometimes you have to give points to your opponent to pull of a maneuvre like getting a treasure. Either play a tile in a kingdom where he has a leader of that colour. Or trigger a conflict. If between 2 other players, guaranteed points for someone other than you. If between you and someone, you can lose...
As far as encouraging the situation for yourself, sometimes you can lure people into starting a conflict with you and then produces several tiles of the relevant colour, winning handsomely.

A perfect exemple of this situation is Tower of Babel. When a player put on auction a build token for a wonder, each other player have to make an offer for participating in the build. For each card offered and not selected by the active player a victory point is allowed to the offering players.

Sometimes, your opponents knights and fleets may be knocked off their principality because they rolled an event and picked up a card that makes them discard one of them.
This gives them less knight points and/or trading points. Those points can transfer to you if because of that, you have more than them.
Same thing in the original Settlers while playing with Cities and Knights expansion where another player may knock out the longest road and provide you with it (along with 2 VPs) if you are the one with the longest road.

Your relative position in the game increases when your opponent slides down a snake on his or her turn.

When an opponent completes a line of their own by laying a tile, lots of other players can receive points as well.

This expansion of carcassonne can reward you for giving other people points by cornering the market on a reasources or taking a builder off the board.

You almost never score alone in El Grande - even if you trigger a special scoring action another player can benefit of it as well.

When each player uses his card to score, all of the regions in the game, even those dominated by other players, will score too.
I think that the core of this semi-abstract game is in the careful manipulation of the scoring tracks (and when to take advantage of the double turn marker).

If another player breaks the Longest Road on their turn, and you now have the longest road, then you get the 2 VPs immediately.
(Of course, in Settlers, you can only win on YOUR turn, but still...)

By controlling colours (simplified) you earn points when other players build cities requiring that specific colour. In fact, the majority of your points earned will probably come during your opponents' turns.

Your opponent may play a card that guarantees that a set on your own side is now unbeatable and you instantly get the point.
Admittedly it's now your turn anyway, but it was your opponent's action that gave you the point.
(And, of course, Schotten-Totten works the same way)
