This list exists in order to share all of the foam core insert mods people have created. I have created none of these.

Feel free to add any that you know of, but please keep them to just inserts and not actual game pieces or map modifications.

10/2 Update: Thank you to everyone that continues to build up this list. It's amazing to see how creative our community is.

12/18 Update: Because keeping an index of this huge list is just not viable, you can use the "Titles Only" option for easier browsing.

I punched out Antiquity and literally could not get the box lid to shut. I came up with this foam core insert.

And now the lid closes!

I spent several hours to master that huge amount of pieces for this Splotter typical game. I did it on the fly (therefore no dimensions, sorry) and the aim was to create a solution which provides a best possible single player supply. Not all components for a single player are stored separately but I found good compromise to handle the most important (e.g. houses). You may decide by your own if you agree. The paperboard is strong enough not to be bended and saves a lot of space. It is finally a mixture of 5mm foamcore and strong paperboard.

The box closes as normal without any additional gap:

Step by step from full to empty...:

I laminated 4 player aids (fanstuff) they cover perfectly the material marker and secure them from being jumbled. They are placed under the rulebook and famine level boards.

The white box in the middle contains pollution marker.

Grassland marker, some houses and exploration marker

Player aid in between.

Two flat panels containing bigger buildings. Every panel is carrying 2 layer of buildings.

Filled the gap above and below landscape tiles with fountains in player color. See below how meeple container works.

The ground level has an height of 30mm

Some components...

Three layer for meeple container. Contains cities, graves, inn‘s, meeples. Both foamcore and paperboard.

Houses in player color.

5mm foamcore with cardboard bottom, provides two layers of buildings (2 x) To have only one supply for one player wasn’t possible, therefore I decided this way. Good compromise I suppose. To ease up drawing of tiles I glued small stripes of paperboard at the ground. If you push a bit the tile lifts off.

Pollution marker and saint cards (fanstuff) are stored at this box.

All components from out the box.

Another simple one this time. Its just a bunch of different sections for all the different cards and six card holders to put on the board. Certainly makes setup and pack up 10 times quicker and I do love card holders.

No room for the T-Rex but there is no way I'd keep that thing in the box, it breaks from a slight breeze.

Totally original design.

Boards go on the bottom and stay in place.

Top tray has everything else.

Most sections are removable to sit on the table.

In the box.

Player boards go on top for a final flair.

So I have had an idea mulling around and waiting for the right game to play with.

So it was a bit of time to build this one, but I love the end result.

The top is just a holder for the scoreboard and the tokens.

Below that we have a removable tray with individual compartments for each player and the cards.

The bottom contains the board pieces and starter items.

Check out all of my obsession and my monuments to Elmer's.

Each player tray is seperate. The octopod, crystals, and time tokens are in a seperate removable tray. The lab upgrades are also in their own removable tray.

The bottom layer contains the board pieces, score track, starting labs, round timers, and program cards.

I designed a foam core insert for the new 2018 edition Arboretum. I used all 5mm foam core. The features I included are as follows:

Made for sleeved cards (FFG Purple - Standard European, Apparently FFG Green fit as well but are a tighter fit)
Score tracker fits on top of cards
Rules all fit on top

Blueprints/Dimensions can be found here:

I got Arcadia Quest for Christmas and loved the game so much I tried my hand at my first insert.

I had a lot of fun putting it together and I think it came out pretty well. I did a google search for Arcadia Quest insert and found a couple pics on reddit. I copied what I saw there and decided to post the results as I did not see any for this game on the list.

Sorry for the sub-par pics.

After seeing the inserts here, I decided to give it a go with Arcadia Quest. The game has a lot of stuff, so it's a good candidate for some custom inserts. I wanted to get everything in the box and make it easy to set the game up, so I made a few separate trays to hold everything.

It took me about 8-10 hours to make, but I think it's worth it.

This design is almost completely copied from the insert sold by Go7Gaming.

Everything fits in there really well and each mini has its own little space to protect the paint job I'm currently doing. There's (apparently) enough space for all the expansion cards but not the minis.

My foamcore insert for Architects of the West Kingdom.

Sorry I didn't make any plans since I just put it together as I was making it.

Bottom Layer: Player workers & Trackers, Tax Stand Promo, Buildings, Apprentices, Solomode, Whiteboard Marker

2nd Layer: Resources & Smaller Cards (some of the debts are underneath the multiplier cards to let them all fit, also the resources are in 2 seperate boxes to make fitting them on the table easier).

Bottom Layer In Box

2nd Layer on top

Player Boards and Laminated Scoresheet on top of 2nd layer

Board and Rulebooks on top

Being the first insert I've designed and completed, its not perfect. The bases could probably be 218mm x 218mm and all of the verticals should be closer to 18mm tall rather than 20mm (the box doesn't quite close all the way if they're both 20mm). Still though, it works

The spaces for cards are a little tight so ultimately I will be gluing some ribbon in the bottom so that when lifted, the cards lift out. I haven't done that yet because I'm being picky on ribbon colors.

Base (w/ Meeples) in mm
- 217 x 217 (1x)
- 217 x 20 (3x)
- 101 x 20 (10x)
- 73 x 20 (1x)
Top (w/ Resources) in mm
- 217 x 217 (1x)
- 217 x 20 (1x)
- 212 x 20 (2x)
- 207 x 20 (3x)
- 66 x 20 (2x)
- 65 x 20 (2x)

Hi everyone, I add my insert too for having more choise in your inspiration.

My insert permit a complete closing game box as you cans see in the picture.

I add a laminated scorepad, credits to Garphill Games and I thank him for his wonderfull work.

I add also a quick rulebook found in the game's files here, on bgg.

The top layer has only 2 containers.

The first one is for the solo cards and for the metal coins.
I could separate this one in two parts, but I preferred to let it in one piece to gain 3-4 mm more for the coins container (as I used the little bag to prevent friction of the metal coins with the game's board).
The solo cards are placed in two decks, one for the basic ards and another for the future events of the solo mode)

I precise that all the cards are sleeved with premium sleeves (so, they are thick), and every deck hold perfectly in his container.

The second tray is for the player meeples and markers.
They don't need to be well ranged like in the previous insert... and so, a time saver for setting up the game and to range all the components at the end.

The second layer (at the bottom of the box) is made by 3 containers.

The first one, is for the buildings and apprentices decks. Once the buildings cards are putted on the board, it became a deck holder for the apprentice cards(two places: one for the deck and one for the discard pile).

You can see the notches I did, they are foldable at 90° to the bottom and you can insert them in the black stand you can see in the image no 4 (I made a V incision on the back of the deck)

And here once the stand is in place.
The deck holder is inclined to better keep the cards inside.

The second one, holds the little cards, in two decks: one for the Debts cards and the other for the Multipliers, cathedral rewards and the black market ones.

Next to those containers I put the resources tray. I made a slope to easily take out the tokens. I preferred this version instead of paper one (much nicer, but I find it more difficult to made and less resistant).

For those who are interested, in the file section of the game I will put the pdf with the dimensions of the insert.

Have a nice cut!

Every good game needs good organization. A game like Argent, with it's expansion, is no different. This game explodes out of it's insert!

As others before me (see here for an amazing storage job), I tested my craft skills in wrestling this massive game into a functional storage insert that combined the base game and expansion into the base box. Here are my results.

We begin with the box in it’s stunning sleeve…

With the lid off, we see the rules, profiles, and board on top.

After placing the board on the table, we see the top layer and tile / card layer. The tiles are stacked to the bottom of the box, as are the cards. If I could remake this tray, I would use the extra space around the cards to surround the tiles in foam, but this way certainly works. We will get to the rest of the top layer in a bit.

Removing the top layer reveals the bottom layer, where the plethora of stands, spells, and player pieces reside. I have separated the player pieces into individual containers.

The spells and tiles are easily removed from the insert. A player piece container is also visible.

And now, a close up of the top layer. Cash on the left. Minis in a pile. Mana on the right. This tray is designed to sit right on the table for easy play.

The box fully closes to satisfy the shelf.

Some notes on construction: the game box is not very deep (~60mm), so I used poster board for the bases rather than foam core to save on space. With enough support foam and pins, the poster board works just as well.

Now I can actually play the game with my OCD tendencies abated.

Thanks for looking!

I play with one big box expansion at a time, so like to be able separate the components as easily as possible before and after a game hence the following storage solution.

Base game:

Edit: Now with added bling! Gate stands, Monster stands, Sealed Gate Signs, Mini Cthulhu Doom Tokens.

Dunwich and Innsmouth share half the Dunwich box each:

I don't own Kingsport and all small box expansions are stored in original boxes...so far!

So my friend recently got me into Arkham and I had been looking for a game to make my first foamcore organizer for and this seemed like a great one to start with. I definitely made some mistakes (can't always seem to cut straight) but I think it turned out alright in the end:

There are three modular trays that can be removed from the box and set on the playing table. The monster bag and GOO/Investigators sit below them.

I messed up my measurements a bit on this one but I'm sure if I redid it all six slots would be big enough and the Ally cards would sit flat.

I decided to make an insert for Arkham Horror. I don't have any expansions, nor do I ever plan to, so this holds only the base game.

The resources and smaller cards have their own trays that lift out.

All inserts out:

The aim is to save space ... So I tried to have core box and all expansions in only 3 big box !

Work is completed! I do some mistakes in the plan but nothing that I can change during construction.

I have made "card shoe" for all of cards.
The monsters have a storage space in the box, but are in a cotton bag when we play.

See my other creations here!
