This list exists in order to share all of the foam core insert mods people have created. I have created none of these.

Feel free to add any that you know of, but please keep them to just inserts and not actual game pieces or map modifications.

10/2 Update: Thank you to everyone that continues to build up this list. It's amazing to see how creative our community is.

12/18 Update: Because keeping an index of this huge list is just not viable, you can use the "Titles Only" option for easier browsing.

Update for Team Play DLC:
This insert works very well with the Team Play DLC with one extra addition - a tray that sits inside the card/ammo token box, above the cards, to store the additional cardboard bits.

Ideally this tray needs to use cardboard ("chipboard" in the USA) instead of foamcore, but it would be possible to use 3mm foamcore if you adjust the dimensions.

You'll likely need to measure your tray to get exact dimensions for a nice fit, as it will depend on the thickness of your foamboard, but mine only just fits the new components with maybe 1-2mm of clearance, so be warned

Vertical Storage:
When storing vertically, I recommend adding 10mm to the height of all player boxes and the main card box. All boards except the larger game board will sit directly on top of these boxes, and sit nicely against the side of the points box.

For the points box, increase height to 64mm, with the externalmost 10mm (of 52mm total width) being 68mm. Then store the larger game board on top of the other boards, sitting nicely against the side of the higher bit of the points box. Then store manuals on top. A quick and dirty way to use my cut plan is to glue feet made from two-thicknesses of 5mm foam board to the bottom of each box (This is what I did to avoid having to remake everything now that we know what's in the expansion).

See updated pictures below including 6th player and extra tray for Team Play DLC:

Original:
This is a multi-configuration insert for Adrenaline.

It's designed with 8 separate parts:

* 1x box for ammo tokens, skulls, and cards(supports sleeved cards)
* 1x box for point tokens
* 6x player boxes

The ammo and point token boxes can be used without the player boxes, and will fit nicely next to the original moulded plastic insert that comes with the game (as pictured).

Or you can build the player boxes as well, each box holds the miniature, damage tokens, player ammo, and the player's action card.

Player boards, game boards, kill track and manuals can sit below or above insert boxes.

I left a bit of extra space for anticipated team expansion pieces (6th player, team underlays, extra cards, an extra board or three. From what I've seen so far this should accommodate all bits. I will probably update this when it arrives.

Can be made from a single 20" x 30" (508mm x 762mm) sheet of foamcore with plenty left over.

This is my inlay for the boardgame Aeon's End Kickstarter edition (including all stretchgoals and the two expansions The Depths and The Nameless). Cards can be sleeved.

On top is enough space for the rulebook and the two expansion boxes.

The inlay is divided into two trays. The first is for all gem, relic and spell cards. And also for the starter, the turnorder and the all randomizer cards. The two foam cuboids are also delivered with the Kickstarter edition.

The other is divided into two parts.
The first contains all the nemesis cards.

The other contains all the character and nemesis mats.

On top are two boxes which contain the tokens, the life wheels and the breach cards.

EDIT 14.3.2017: A friend of mine printed me two bases for the two score wheels with his 3D printer.
Thanks for that
You can find the print files here:

While not as fancy as the previous insert, I went strictly for functionality and being able to store the game on its side. Plus I'm preparing for the many, many expansion I forsee for this game.

The cards are stored vertically, and the paper dividers work well enough for now. Maybe on night shift this year I'll make up some coloured ones. The character and villian tiles are elevated, so you can get a finger under them. No plans, just did some rough measurements and had at 'er.

After punching and sorting the components from the new Kickstarter expansion and integrating them into the main game I found that I couldn't comfortably fit everything back into the two boxes. I like keeping counters separate, usually with ziploc bags unless there are specific trays for them, and I didn't have enough room to do it this way without just a bit too much of a squeeze... This insert lets me store everything together in the main box and do away with the expansion box.

Of course the box lid has to sit proud to do so, but not by much - about an inch and half. All the 'kingdom' components (plastic figures and card tokens) remain in the main box along with the original dice and about half the cards, the rest sits on the snug-fitting tray above it.

In addition to normal foamboard for the insert I used a sheet of dense matte cardstock as the base (thinner than foamboard to keep the height lower). (I'd have preferred to use white foamboard but only had black to hand.)

The tray in place on top of the original insert. The Conan Experience Board lies flush with the top of the tray so that it doesn't stick up.

Layout with the experience board in place.

Layout with the experience board and sorcery cards removed. In addition to the artifact tokens, both sets of artifact cards are in the section with the sorcery cards, so they can be easily chosen.

Overall layout. The mapboard and the rules would go in the main box as usual.

Showing the new height of the box with the insert in place.

Here's a design for Fantasy Flight Game's "Age of War."

The initial thought was just a simple box with a divider for the dice, but it turns out the box is too narrow for 7 dice across plus the foam core.

So I built a little square for the cards, and left the rest for the dice!

___________Quantity_______Axis 1 (cm)_____Axis 2 (cm)
Box__________1____________11.6____________11.6
Long wall______2____________11.6_____________2.5
Short wall_____2____________10.6_____________2.5
Divider 1______1_____________8.1_____________2.5
Divider 2______1_____________7.6_____________2.5
Place the 8.1 and 7.6 cm dividers such that they make a 7.6 x 7.6 cm square (measured inside-inside) in one of the corners.

Imperial board used as a lid to cover everything.

2 boxes to hold all the main components (1 for coins, 1 for all the other stuff). The player pieces are in their respective cloth bags.

The coin box can be opened on one side and be used during the game.

Here is my custom foam core insert for Agricola. This is my second attempt at an insert.

The bottom tray hold the cards and tiles as well as the Bielefeld Deck expansion. I sorted the occupation cards into 1+, 3+ and 4+ player stacks. Since I mostly play only 2 player games, it makes it easier to get to only the cards I need.

The top tray holds all of the individual player tokens and fences, including 2 additional colors I picked up at Gen Con 2014, as well as all of the animals, food and resources.

The resource section of the tray lifts out in order to easily set it on the table.

The box with the player boards.

The box with the bottom tray over the player boards.

The box with the top tray added.

The box with all components.

This is my second insert, following on from Puerto Rico: Limited Anniversary Edition.

There's a lot of stuff in the Agricola box. So much so, it took me a while to figure out how to cram in some foamcore and still fit all the components inside, while still maximising its usefulness by separating everything and keeping setup as simple as possible. And that's without any additional decks or animeeples to deal with!

I took some inspiration from previous Agricola entries on this list, but largely went my own way.

With the Agricola: Farmers of the Moor expansion.

This custom insert holds custom components and all the decks of the base game and expansion for easy setup. All cards sleeved.

Since I have all the promo boards etc. There is no chance they would all fit in one box anyway so I keep them all the the Agricola: Farmers of the Moor expansion box. Also I like keeping the box around for the spine art in my book self =)

I'm not sure if anyone else will think this is cool, but I like the way it turned out so I figured I'd post it.

I'm not convinced I'll be able to work out a full foamcore insert for the Agricola box that will accommodate sleeved cards, so I started by just creating this resource tray. It's built to house the resource board, but I didn't want it to be permanently attached, so the resource board can be removed while still leaving the tray itself functional.

The whole thing fits just snug into the game box.

I'm hearing that this resource board may not actually be universal to all copies of Agricola? In my copy, it's on the backside of one of the player boards.

I wanted to do an insert where all the different pieces can easily be kept right by the board. I also wanted all the players to have a container for their own pieces.
I couldn't find an insert I was 100% happy with, so came up with my own.

This is my first insert and I think it turned out pretty well.

The box with everything in it except for the game boards.

It is in multiple parts so different people can have something close for restocking.

6 stacks of cards fits perfectly like this.

With the game board inside everything was a bit too tall for the lid to fit perfectly, but this is good enough for me.

I used 5mm foam board. The walls of both layers are about 23mm tall each.

Here are some pictures of my insert for Agricola.

I've made 5 removable trays to hold player pieces.

The cards go next to them in the box. I divided them into 6 piles.

On top of these is the tray with resources, and next to this, a tray with the rooms.

And the player boards go on top

This is the second insert I made so still have some skills to gain and lessons to learn like looking better at the original design of the resource tray and realizing the food tokens are away from the opening for a reason.. haha anyway they stay in quite ok like this.

This is for the base game only. With the new deluxe edition coming up, I don't want to delve too far into the expansions in case something is included.

I looked through a lot of the inserts on BGG for Agricola, and didn't see any that separated the cards enough for my preferences. I also like having individual player boxes for quicker set up.

The top level has the player boxes and the tiles, which are at a slant. This means they take up less vertical room in the box, and also makes it more ergonomic to draw tiles.

Below are two trays of resources. There is another insert here that uses a similar layout. I split mine into two different trays due to table space limitations.

The card box also uses a slanting design with foamcore dividers. This lets me customize the cards I have in it at any time, and also allows much more separation than other organizers. I have it split into:

- Round cards
- Major Improvements
- Begging Cards & Player Aids
- Deck K
- Deck I
- Deck E

Here is my insert for Agricola. I used 3mm foam core for the base plates and the inner walls of the segments. 5mm foam core for the outer walls of each segment.
The boards and rules are stored in the Farmers of the Moor box.

After opening and first layer

Second layer

The tiles tray

The resources tray

All the trays together

What stays in the box

Because I sorted the action cards and special action cards after player counts I didn't knew what to do with the 4/5 players special action card. I put it in with the other 4 player cards and printed a reminder which goes to the 5 player cards:

The game boards

If you want to build a similar insert you can get the register cards here (English) and here (German).

Having just received Agricola I was about to make a box insert. Then I remembered I had a Caverna insert I wasn't using anymore so I added some more dividers, removed a couple others, and made the wells easier to scoop bits out of.

I really should have just started from scratch but I just kept fiddling with this one until it worked.

There is one well in the insert that has absolutely nothing in it, so I guess I have room for expansions.
