The zombie theme and solitaire play appealed to me so I printed up the rules and the flowchart for this. I love games that don't require any assembly. Just grab a deck of playing cards and go!

I decided to make another one to put in the May GG lottery, I've been wanting to do this for a while as I think this is a fun little filler/solitaire which is the way I mostly play it. I had to wait until I thrifted enough dice the right size. I made my 1st set with chessex dice but while nice my husband finds the icons a tad small for his eyes. This time I used boggle dice which are larger. I colored them then sealed them with varathane. The dice stickers are laminated as is the box. I had to mod the box file a bit to fit the dice. I also pocketmodded the rules to fit in the box without folding. The file for the rules are

I know this game doesn't have the highest ranking on BGG, but I'm a fan of Dan Verssen so I thought I'd give it a try. I mounted the counters but it was still a pretty easy and fast build.

I printed this off the images on BGG. I think I have a complete collection of Series: Pocket Battle Games (LPS) games now except for Operation Cerberus: The Channel Dash.

This isn't a print-and-play game, but rather a playtest kit I put together. I'd built this one previously, but it went through some pretty major revisions so I made another copy.

The artwork is pretty simple right now (especially on the counters) but there's some much better artwork coming from Dan Lamb, who did the final artwork on Shield Wall: Hastings 1066.

Board Game: Land of Enin
Finally had time to craft this version 2 of Land of Enin, my local print shop doesn't do a good job at lining the front and the back of prints precisely so i didn't bother print the back of the card. Instead I mounted all of the cards on a thick cardboard wrapped with a black textured crafting paper I found in an art n craft store.

Board Game: Land of Enin

Still, I'm not that satisfied with it, I still prefer them to be cards for mobility, so already ordered a set of this from printerstudio the large size cards along with version 1 as well.

Putting this one together for my game group as a number of them enjoy playing Battlestar Galactic...and I have no desire to spend 4-6 hours of my game nite playing that type of game...an hour, I can probably enjoy...and its gotten good reviews. Will run into May, and a friend of mine wants to help put it together to learn how I do my PnP projects, so once I get the items I've ordered, we'll have to figure out a date that works for both of us and doesn't interfere with whenever baby Lydia decides to come

Have all the materials...hope to get this put together Monday evening!

And thanks to Chris' help, it is now complete and I hope to be able to give it a go at my group's game nite Saturday!

Looks like an interesting little co-op "wargame"...Since the Japanese planes don't shoot back, perhaps its not as "war-ish", but they still can sink your carrier It also looks like an interesting usage of time and dice (rounds are timed and decrease in length as the game continues).

This one will also obviously carry over into May, but I'm waiting on my order from Gamecrafter to finish this one.

Build is complete...now just waiting for my first chance to give it a go...hopefully later tonite!

Just finished putting together a copy of the Decktet for my son's birthday. Included a pair of Decktet dice and the score card from Fifes & Drums.

Trying to decide how I want to make some tokens to go with it. I've got some 3/4" wood discs I could use but I'm not sure I want to take the time to paint them up right now. I printed up the tokens at 5/8" but thought I'd look at some other options.

Oh, and I still need to print up the rules. Was planning to print the rules booklet 2 to a page, 3 hole punch and put it in a binder but I'm not quite sold on that approach yet either.

Pics when it's all said and done.

Edit: And as I was playing a game of Adaman with this set (just to make sure the deck was made properly, of course!) I realized that the 4 cards I'd had to reprint due to cutting errors were only 97% of the size of the other cards. Curse you, auto-resizing in Adobe Reader! So I had to reprint those cards. Or re-reprint them, I guess. But it should be done this month. I've got 2 hours left. ninja

With access to a color laser printer that does allows duplex as well, I printed this one out. Unfortunately I had to find out that Evince, the default PDF viewer in Ubuntu, does have trouble with nearly all of the PDF files from the games of Todd Sanders. It's like only a couple of the layers that should be visible are drawn. The funny thing is, once you run those PDFs through another program like Okular and print it to PDF again, those files can be read nicely by Evince, too.

So while I crafted this one, I guess I'll have to do it again until I can check it out and play it.

The special photo poster deal from last month was still on, and I noticed that the prints that I ordered last month were cut off at the edges, so I ordered some additional prints of Skirmish Wars and added a print of the cleaned-up Barbarian Prince map and the Dune Express Alliances map as well.

We played the Dune Express game that I crafted last month and unfortunately, while the components look great visually, a totally random game of dice rolling with little possibility of interaction isn't our cup of tea. Now I have lots of tokens and printed game maps that I don't need anymore... Let's see if the Alliances version is any better.

Now that I started looking around where I can print my game maps, I found yet another poster company that offered one 60x40 cm poster for shipping only. Since I considered this to be just the right size for a Pandemic map (can't measure it myself, I played the game, but I don't own it) instead of the 60x85 cm and 30x40 cm prints I did earlier, I immediately ordered two posters of the game map for the Warhammer 40k remake, a normal one and one that has been laminated.

The laminated one is exceptional, I'm really really pleased with the quality. I'll order all the game maps that I want to have in high quality like this from now on!

Since the game map was looking so good, I ordered the cards for it through Printerstudio.com later that month, as they had a deal for Mothers Day which equates to 50% off custom card prints in my case.

This game with a cyberpunk theme looked really interesting. I did play some Shadowrun in my past, so I immediately knew about the setting, and I was very excited about the quality of the art. It really pays to have a professional graphical designer develop a Print'n'Play game... And fortunately, the gameplay for this one is good as well!

But I am getting ahead of things: This one has a version for black+white printing, and there aren't too much pawns and cards to be printed, so the cutting and crafting is pretty minimal compared to some of the other things that I started. I just printed it on standard paper, the cards with their backs, too, and added colors to the player pawns with crayons, then played it.

Board Game: Zaibatsu
Board Game: Zaibatsu
Board Game: Zaibatsu

My review: I really like the gameplay of this a lot. There are a couple of open rules questions, and my other players weren't too excited: One player complained, that you wait for the right card and sit around idly way too much, the other has a general problem with games where dice are involved and thus complained that there's too much of a luck element in this one, too, of course. I think that the most important thing is to get a grip of the theme and how well it has been implemented. Amazing!

I later ordered binder clips as pawn bases, like it was intended, and glued the tiles on thin cardboard. Unfortunately the tile paper and the cardboard as well began to bend from the glue because it was moist. Next time I'll use thicker cardboard or anything else that doesn't bend (any suggestions?) and print the tiles on sticker label paper instead, or I will print the tiles on very heavy paper from the start. Let's hope that the printer can handle that heavy paper.

I even placed an order of the colored cards through Printerstudio.com for this, as I could combine these cards with the Pandemic40k ones in one order, leaving out only the WAR expansion for Pandemic40k.

Yes, this was my busiest crafting month so far... Since I am already waiting for the game map prints to arrive, I also placed a Printerstudio.com order for the game cards for this one, too, with another order using the same 50% off deal for Mothers Day again.

I could squeeze in some cards that I had to leave out for Pandemic40k before as well, the WAR expansion and some player aids.

Now all that is left for me to craft for this is the Action boards, Mission steps board and the Trajectory boards as well as the markers.
