Because the Living Card Game format produces a series of non-random card sets, it made sense to have a GeekList that recorded which cards are in each set. This lets you, as a potential buyer, know exactly what cards you are getting when you order a specific Data Pack.

This GeekList format featuring LCG expansion setlists was originally developed by myself for the Game of Thrones LCG, and I have carried over most of the same format here. This is just my second GeekList, please feel free to offer whatever feedback you have, as I am always looking for advice and more ways to make these lists more helpful for you!

These were my goals in putting together this GeekList:
1) Maintain a current and updated list of data packs available
2) Provide brief retail descriptions (from FFG) for each data pack
3) Provide a list of cards included in each data pack
4) Mention any subtleties that may set a data pack apart

Description
Android: Netrunner is a two-player Living Card Game™ set in a dystopian, cyberpunk future where monolithic megacorps own and control the vast majority of human interests. While corporation players try to score points by advancing their agendas, they have to guard their intellectual properties from the elite and subversive hackers known as netrunners.

Setlist
The core set is the ONLY Android: Netrunner product with lumpy distribution. For this reason, the quantities of each card have been listed below next to their respective card title. The number in parenthesis next to each category (Agenda, Identity, etc.) represents the number of unique cards of that type in the set. Text colors represent which faction each card belongs to.

Description
“You want to be cheap, be cheap. But you want to flex your muscles? Go ahead and do it. Do it right. You’re driving one of the world’s mightiest megacorporations. You have credits like most people have red blood cells. Now, you can use it. Lock up your servers. Safe.”
– Ulrich Heiner, ice programmer and designer of Draco

At Haas-Bioroid, we practice what we preach, and Ash models spearheaded an internal efficiency revolution that trimmed company overhead by 17.2% and increased productivity by 9.3%. The key? Bioroid efficiency experts always keep an unbiased eye toward the bottom line.
–from “Better Business with Bioroids”

What Lies Ahead adds muscle and theme to each of the game’s seven different factions. Each of the corps receives a new agenda and a flavorful piece of ice, perfectly tailored to its base strengths. On the other side, the runner factions launch into the ongoing cyberstruggles with new icebreakers and support cards. Meanwhile, fans of the Anarchs and Haas-Bioroid should find the Data Pack particularly rewarding as each gains two additional cards, including a new identity.

Description
“How do you visualize static? I see thieves prowling the net in slow-motion, their hacks disrupted, crawling down the paths we set before them. The greatest securities don’t stop these criminals and their progress but route them where we choose.”
–H.O. Murakami, Jinteki network designs

The seven different factions of Android: Netrunner continue to explore new space in program design; each of the four Corporations receives a new piece of ice, and all three Runners receive a new icebreaker. As part of the Genesis Cycle, A Study in Static focuses on developing each faction’s traditional strengths even as it opens up new strategies for players to explore. New resources and agendas permit players to pursue tightly focused deck builds centered around an increasing number of tricks and traps. Meanwhile, A Study in Static also allows players to reevaluate their existing decks and reconfigure them for greater efficiency.

Description
“Checkmate in three.”
–Reina Roja

The sixty new cards (three copies each of twenty individual cards) from Opening Moves introduce a wealth of new programs, resources, agendas, ice, and operations. You’ll find a wide range of wildly innovative cards, from the Anarch’s Caïssa programs and the Shaper’s Stealth chip to NBN’s executive asset and new Illicit ice for the Corp. These cards will allow you to pursue new deck-building themes and take entirely new approaches to the game’s challenges.

The first focus of the Spin Cycle is bad publicity. Corps will find plenty of powerful cards that will tempt them to take bad publicity. To what lengths will you go to keep those pesky Runners out of your servers, or take them down in meat space? Runners will gain ways to take advantage of bad publicity. They’ll even find ways to usurp the Corporate messaging machinery and tag them with some bad publicity. On the whole, managing bad publicity becomes an important aspect of business. Too much bad publicity, and the Corp will find that its servers are tissue paper, and the Runner is a pair of scissors. If the Corp takes too much bad publicity, chances are they’ve lost. Fire up the PR machine!

The next theme running through the set is the introduction of “Double” operations and events. These cards provide powerful effects at a loss of flexibility. Each Double costs an extra to play. That’s a giant investment for a Runner, eating up one-half of his base of four . Doubles are even riskier for the Corp, taking up two-thirds of its turn, but the payoff can be game-changing. Players of the classic 1990s game may remember this mechanic, and almost all of the original doubles are back, in one form or another. In addition, they are accompanied by many new ones. These cards can change the rhythm of the game and provide for even more dramatic and exciting finishes.

Description
“Do you want to play again – double or nothing?”
–Reina Roja

The cyberstruggles of Android: Netrunner have always been a risky affair for all involved, but with its sixty new cards (three copies each of twenty different cards), Mala Tempora raises the stakes to all-new heights. Will you be able to plug its upgrades into your deck and find success? Or are you the one who will fall behind?

Whatever the outcome, it won’t be dull. The runners and corporate executives who direct the struggles of Android: Netrunner lead frantic lives full of fantastic highs and staggering lows, and the pace doesn’t slow a beat in Mala Tempora. Many of its cards encourage daring gambles, staking health and fortunes against opportunities to rapidly accelerate wealth and success. Of course, in an age of technological one-upmanship, why play fair? Mala Tempora also introduces a number of programs and ice that allow runners and corps to “cheat” these wagers by stealing information about their opponents’ cards.

Meanwhile, leave it to the Anarchs to do their own thing; while the other factions bid for greater efficiencies and more devious tricks, a new Anarch runner arrives to play the game by another entirely different set of rules.

“Can a single voice still make a difference? Probably not, but that won’t stop me from trying. What GRNDL does to the environment is nothing short of criminal.”
–Tallie Perrault

In Android: Netrunner, you don’t need your opponent to love you. But it doesn’t hurt to make them fear you. Wield the blunt force of GRNDL’s wealth and resources, or Blackmail the game’s megacorps. With Fear and Loathing, the Spin Cycle further amplifies its focus on bad publicity, tagging, and the various games within the game. Bluff your opponent, or force his hand. Run the network like you’re on a quest, work to save face, or completely ignore public opinion. Fear and Loathing gives you new tools to play the game the way you best enjoy.

Description
“Don’t try to anticipate every move. Just anticipate the moves that matter.”
–Reina Roja

While it has drawn new attention to the game’s mechanics for traces and bad publicity, the Spin Cycle has also introduced a number of powerful Double events and operations, each of which requires its owner to spend a click to play it, in addition to its normal costs. In a game that’s as full of bluffs, counter-bluffs, risks, and gambles as Android: Netrunner, Doubles demand a heavy investment of the actions available on any given turn, but if you play them right, they offer tremendous rewards. In Double Time, you’ll find a significant focus on these events, as they represent twenty-one of the Data Pack’s sixty new cards (three copies each of twenty individual cards).

May 2014

Description
“…The lag. It was 1.2 seconds. That could mean only one thing. He was accessing a node outside of the earth’s atmosphere. He started a mapping protocol.”

When cyber explorer Nasir Meidan’s obsessive search for the net’s legendary source protocols leads him beyond the reaches of Earth’s atmosphere, he discovers powerful fragments of pure coding, startling new ice, and a wealth of data that neither he nor anyone else could have ever expected…

What can happen in one-point-two seconds? With its sixty new cards (three copies each of twenty different cards), Upstalk transports Android: Netrunner to an all-new meat space: the moon. Here, the game defies standard expectations. Runners and Corps explore new strategies, as do many of the game’s cards and mechanics. Here, Corporate trace attempts can punish Runners even when they fail. Corporate assets are everywhere, there’s no life outside of Corporate-sponsored air, and there’s a chance that those who manage or run the net may encounter a shard or fragment of the mythical source code.

It takes an adaptable mind to navigate lunar lag. Many have tried. Few have succeeded. When the cyberstruggles of Android: Netrunner head to the moon, will you try to run lunar servers from the earth? Or will you assemble your rig Upstalk?
