I leave you to decide what you call often. Probably best to exclude traditional games such as Chess.

I'll play this as often as I can. I'm slightly cheating though, because I haven't played my physical copy for a while, I've only played by email. There are two problems:

1) Difficulty in finding opponents,
2) My board is warped cry

I play the actual boardgame of this as much as almost anything I own because it's popular with the kids. Not the most exciting game ever, mechanically speaking, but the theme is great, and I haven't seen any other Robin Hood games that look like they are both fun for me and playable by a 6 year old.

Mage Knight was one of the first tabletop games I explored after games like Monopoly, Life, and Battleship when I was 12 or 13. I played it for a few years before the introduction of the 2.0 reboot. I still pull out my figures from time to time with the original first edition rules, which I attribute to my evolution of gaming beyond those stereotypical childhood staples.

This and Borodino are both regulars that date back to 1972. Armageddon gets the nod because I have played it the most in the past twelve months.

Armageddon solved the problem that plagued the early SPI tactical games, Leaders: almost meaningless in Centurion and desperately vital and rare in Phalanx. It did this by the simple expedient of providing large numbers of bad leaders. The variety of unit types and number (and quality) of leaders gave most armies a distinct character which means that the scenarios do not feel all too similar to each other.

Borodino has staying power due to a popular and simple combat system combined with a situation that forces both sides to sweat. There are much better simulations available, but it is a fine way to spend a couple of hours.

Warhammer 40,000 = Started in 2000, I play this more often than WHFB.

Howevr, both have taken a backseat temporarily to boardgaming, BUT they will continue to be played, especially as GT season is approaching by year end.

Damn, now I have to get a lot of models painted!!!

Footnote: I DO have a lot of AH boardgames such as Squad Leader, MBT (first edition), IDF (Israeli Defense Force), etc., I just haven't touched them in ages...all these predate the GW games.

Most of my friends have had the pleasure of being exposed to war gaming through this 1972 version of a classic game. Considering I have a sizeable game collection, the majority of which I have only played a couple of times, the fact that this game still gets pulled off the shelf is pretty miraculous. Good gameplay, simple rules, and a reasonable depiction of the overall strategic situation.

This is a game I remember playing as a very young lad - still finds its way to the table sometimes when we just want something to do while downing our beverages and talking away the evening. The great thing is you can play as short or as long as you like, and everyone winds up cheering for their favourite resource!

If we're going classic childhood games, it's Jenga and Clue, those are the ones I still enjoy though I only play them once in a blue moon.
