This month was the 50th anniversary of the premiere of Dr. No. I'd like to celebrate it with a poll about the one and only 007.

I'll list one entry for each movie in the categories, beginning with Dr. No until Skyfall.

Let's go.

BEST ACTOR IN THE ROLE

My favourite is still Sean Connery. I have no problems with any of the chosen actors, in fact I like the harder edge given by Dalton and Craig, and Lazenby did a pretty good job. It was not easy to marry Bond.

The best Great Good Bad He should have thought twice

BEST BOND GIRL

For me, there's no contest. Diana Rigg in On Her majesty's secret service. Doing none of the stuff as Emma Peel, she is beautiful, talented, resourceful, and in the end SHE MARRIES BOND!!
A special mention must be made to the first, Ursula Andress (that shot coming from the water is still breathtaking), and to Maud Adams, the only one who repeated.
I'm not counting Sylvia Trench, played by Eunice Grayson in Dr. No and From Russia with love, because I consider the Bond girl the one that is with Bond at the end of the movie. That also helps in movies with arguably two Bond girls, like You only live twice, The man with the golden gun, or Skyfall.

Poll
BEST BOND GIRL
The best Great Good Bad She should have though twice
Honey Rider (Ursula Andress)
Tatiana Romanova (Daniela Bianchi)

BEST HENCHMAN/ASSASSIN

Another category with memorable baddies. Jaws is my favourite, but there are many great characters here: Xenia Onatopp, Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd...

Jaws appears both for Moonraker and for The spy who loved me. I could have listed Naoni (Caroline Munro) as the assassin for TSWLM and put Jaws only for Moonraker, but in Moonraker he ends as a goodie, so...
From the Daniel Craig films I'll include only one assassin, the one from Skyfall.

BEST TITLE SONG

I suppose that the James Bond theme will win, but I'll vote for We have all the time in the world. The last thing the great Louis Armstrong ever recorded, and a lovely song.

A special mention must go to John Barry. He shaped the Bond film music working in all the Connery movies, the Lazenby one, some of Moore's tenure, and The living daylights. A master.

Poll

BEST GADGET/VEHICLE

The spy gadgets were perfected during the Cold War, but Q took them to the limit. And what about the pimped rides? A collection of cars, autogyros, and even gondolas that are more than your eyes see at first.
Some of them are way over the top, but the best are memorable pieces of engineering, and provided some of the best moments of the movies.
My favourite, the Aston Martin DB5. Gorgeous and lethal.

Poll
BEST GADGET/VEHICLE
The best Great Good Bad Worse
Walther PPK (Dr. No)
Booby trapped briefcase (From Russia with love)

BEST STUNT/CHASE

Bond's movies are action movies, some of them are among the best action movies ever. The stuntmen team is probably the best that you can have. All of the movies have a chase sequence, or a stunt that bring you to the edge of your seat. I remember watching Goldeneye at the cinema after a long waiting, and when Bond plunges, catches the plane and manages to fly it, my friends and I gave a standing ovation during the credits. That is probably my favourite, along with the 360º degree car jump in the man with the golden gun.
As for chases, the on foot parkour chase from Casino Royale is astonishing.

Poll
BEST STUNT/CHASE
The best Great Good Bad Yawn
The escape trough a vent (Dr. No)
The fight on the Orient Express (From Russia with love)
Aston Martin chase (Goldfinger)
Submarine fight (Thunderball)

Parachute jump with the Union Jack (The spy who loved me)
Ski chase (For your eyes only)
Freefall fight with Jaws (Moonraker)
Train chase/fight (Octopussy)
Fight on the Golden Gate (A view to a kill)
Fight on the aeroplane cargo (The living daylights)
Truck chase (Licence to kill)
Dive for the plane (Goldeneye)
Climbing down the building (Tomorrow never dies)
