Dear FTL Santa (and all his elves),

Here's a little GeekList where we can easily communicate back and forth. I'll post replies here for you when you send me GeekMail instead of them maybe getting lost in the usual FTL Thread. (and I'd rather not use my profile for full discussions).

In addition to our BGG Wishlist, Billy and I are open to receiving games that are not on the wishlist if the elves have a strong feeling that we would enjoy it based on my currently rated games. We are also ok with receiving those used games you don't play anymore (as long as all the pieces are there)

One of Santa's Elves (Bouncy Tum-Tums) sent a note requesting some information on Billy. Here it is!

He doesn't like having his photo taken. (But I have plenty to share!):

Billy and Buster by melodramababs, on Flickr

Billy and the Snow by melodramababs, on Flickr

the hubby and the 'hawk. by melodramababs, on Flickr

foxboro trip 2006 by melodramababs, on Flickr

His Birthday is on January 2nd. He rarely gets anything for his birthday because of people tend to lump the presents in with Christmas. (It's a plight shared by many year end babies, I fear)

He loves sports. (LOVES!) - a few examples: possibly on the first day we met - he said that I should never - ever - plan anything - ever - on Sundays. Sunday = football. He has also been known to take his vacation days during the World Cup of Soccer. Hockey Trade Deadline day is usually a vacation day as well. March Madness (College basketball) is also a "don't plan anything" period of time. He loves playing fantasy football and fantasy baseball and generally does very well. His hockey love lies with the New York Islanders. (those who know hockey will know that finding one of these fans in the wild is rare!) He can usually be seen wearing a sports jersey of some kind and he will tell you that he collects them. He will refuse to wear any NHL jersey aside from a New York Islanders jersey. (during the puppy training for our dog Buster, one of the tasks required us to put a t-shirt on the dog. The trainer randomly gave t-shirts out and we ended up with a Calgary Flames t-shirt. Billy asked someone else to trade with him because he refused that this dog wear any sports team other than the NY Islanders)

His other favourite teams are: Atlanta Falcons (NFL), Blue Jays (MLB), Soccer: Netherlands

His tastes in music are quite varied. His 2 favourite groups are quite far apart in genre... and considering what we've heard as an acronym for one of them, one could almost say ironic. I would say that he has an equal love for Depeche Mode and KMFDM. He loves listening to 80s radio stations.

His greatest talent lies in his voice. He has been asked by girls to marry them from speaking to him on the phone while working at banking call centres. He studied Radio Broadcasting and has a dream of doing voiceovers for cartoons. He loves doing Spongebob and - during this time of year - he does a great Santa Claus impression.

He loves video games and has been playing Call of Duty quite a bit since its release. He also love playing NHL on the XBOX360. He loves watching movies; his favourite movie is "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly"

He loves boardgames (Obviously!). His favourite would be BloodBowl: Team Manager. He also loves Agricola and really loved his one play of Seven Sisters. We enjoy playing games on the iPad before bed.

and now, you know most of all there is to know about Billy.

Another of Santa's Elves (Zippy Bing-A-Ling) wrote a note saying they found a store in Vancouver *gasp* and that we could drive there to pick up the gift.

Here's my reply:

Vancouver is actually quite a drive (12 hours away - if the roads are good!) and would not be enjoyable in the winter (many many avalanches and dangerous roads). There is another local store which would probably love to help and would offer local pickup. They are called The Sentry Box and I can easily get there via public transit on my lunch break. Their prices are a bit more than Starlit Citadels. The manager's name is Greg and I'm sure if you let him know the present is for me, he'll be happy to help out.

Feel The Love Santa wrote:
Dear Billy,

Your gift is almost ready! It can be picked up on or after December 22 at Downtown Comics, Duckworth Street, St. John's.

Or is that too far? I thought with boardgames that if you move left of the map that you can move straight to the right and according to Google Maps you only have to go a little to the left from Calgary and then wrap to the right side where St. John's is.

Regards,

An anonymous elf (don't want to get fired, bad economy, if you think the economy is bad where you live, try being an elf looking for work on the north pole!)

Dear Santa,

If I lived on a Pandemic Board, it would be very easy to travel around that way. In fact, it would be a lot of fun.

I am very excited. It's always nice getting a letter from Santa, I am happy that in your old age, that you have finally realized that for rapid communication technology is far superior to paper.

Thank you, Billy.

PS. What kind of cookies do you like?

YIPPEE!

Billy got another note from Santa!!

When I told Billy that we heard from Santa he said "your santa or my santa?" "your Santa", I said

Billy was very excited. He has a job interview today AND He hears from Santa... now, if only Santa had some pull from this job it would be perfect in every way!

I'm on vacation next week so the timing for Santa's delivery is perfect! (also. don't worry Santa. your secret identity will be safe with us!)

Today was a very busy day for me at work. I was stressed to the max. Billy knew better than to call me unless it was super important.

He called at one point in the afternoon to say that he was downstairs and heard the dog bark; he went upstairs to see what was going on: SANTA HAD LEFT A GIFT ON OUR FRONT STEP!

I think it's totally cute that was he so excited to get a secret Santa gift!

I told him to wait until I got home to open it so that I could take pictures.

What could it be?

PACKING PEANUTS!

Oooooh!

Android: NETRUNNER!

Thank you (not so) Secret Santa!
