GOOD THINGS The official Games for Geekgold December 2012.
There's a lot of rubbish and bad and very sad things out there. But then, if we look, there's a lot of good stuff.
Share the good vibe with G4GG December! Rules 1 Die rolls, here on BGG posts, will be used to ensure transparency in picking winners. These are trackable and can be audited. 2 Despite this we still have to be good chaps to each other – that is if we put an item up we draw it, if we draw it we send it to the winners. The good chap' code: - We're all good chaps, so behave - We're friendly, honest and err on the side of being good to each other - If we make mistakes we own up, apologise and make good as far as possible - We treat others as we'd want to be treated - We're here to play boardgames and have spiffing fun and this lottery is just another way of extending this fun by getting more excellent games to fabulous people
Entering Anyone with a BGG account can participate but new users can’t list items. If you see an item on this geeklist you're interested in owning, tip that entry and you are entered.
Listing items + Post it as an item on this list (but not if you’re a new user). + Include a full description of the thing or edition that you have and its condition. + Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, or if you’re willing to contribute to shipping. + Specify when your item will close for entries (this MUST be by 31 December). You can post Board Games, Video Games, RPGs, and related items. You cannot make a lottery for Geekgold or something completely unrelated the main entry, although these types of item can be added as bonus or as secondary winners. You can put gift cards as long as it is for a games related store (i.e. no gift card to a convenience or department store allowed, but one for steam, funagain, drivethru rpg, etc can be raffled). A Paypal payment in lieu of an online store permitted if the winner cannot easily obtain the game for an online store. + Always link the entry to the correct item on the database. So if you are auctioning the Video Game version of Puerto Rico Puerto Rico and not to Puerto Rico.
+ Miscellaneous game entries, like FIMO miniatures, pimp items, etc should be added using Miscellaneous Game Accessory, Miscellaneous Miniatures Game Accessory or Miscellaneous Card Game Accessory as appropriate. + Don't update more than once a day! Preferably not more than once a week. + If you are in some way connected with the item in question, either as a publisher or as a designer, declare it! + Please try not to add substantial new items to a lottery item after a few days of listing without checking with me first. Some people invest much or all of their limited if they perceive they have a reasonable chance of winning. Dilution, while good for you, may be unfair for bidders.
Drawing ! If you put up an item you will make the drawing on bgg.com using dice rolls in the entry you use to list the item. You must do this. ! Please, for everyone's sake (particularly yours) keep the entering for items as simple as possible!!! If you have two prizes you’ll need to do the draw several times removing earlier winners if they are rolled again. You will need to specify if the same person can’t win more than once. ! By the last day of the month OR the day you nominated you are expected to draw the item. They must be drawn within 5 days of the end of the month or it is expected that you will return all geekgold.
How to draw.... see here for a better step-by-step summary [geeklist=149652][/geeklist] A. Go to the item on the G4GGg thread and post that it is closed for drawing. Add the number of geekgold that have been bid at the time you close it. (see here http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/148593/item/2366038#item23...) B. Find the ID number of your item from your browser URL (click the number of the item next to the title where it is on the geeklist (eg the item above is 2366038). C. Click on Jeromier's Awesome Tool and open it in another tab or window D. Enter the ID number of your item into Jeromier's Awesome Tool. E. Select the Display the final list option. DO NOT choose the Randomize the list option and DO NOT check the Determine winner box. F. Select Find Winner. This will give you a list of bidders in alphabetical order (don't randomise it)! G. If you can right click on the list and copy it, then paste it to a googledoc or word doc and save it- IF you know how import it to BGG in your gallery please do this, (this is an added option so that later entries after it has closed are easier to rule out). H. Save the list and go to the bottom bar of the listed item. Click on Add a Roll and beside Roll type in dxxx (with xxx being the number of entries as recorded in Jeromier's Awesome Tool . Click Add Roll and the winning number will appear underneath your item. I. Now you just have to find who that was. Check your winning number against the list of bidders you got from Jeromier's Awesome Tool to find the winner. J. Display the winner's name as a post below your entry. Use the drop down menu option with Insert Geek Link in it. Use the list to find User. Then insert the avatar of the winner by using the code [username = nameofwinner] (without the spaces in the middle). K. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game. L. Send them the game.
NOTE: Each die roll gets a unique sequential number. If you can't draw the entry I will do it for you - ask me and give me a few days’ notice. Do not delete the item!
(this is only for the expansion, base game is still required)
Condition: Only played once (was fun, but I can't get my group to put down Cities and Knights to play this again.) Very good condition, except for one missing special Catan scoring chit. The game should have 50, but I only counted 49 (see pic).
Condition: I don't think we ever even used these. Our maddening group decided to switch to 2e! Boxes are a little crushed from riding in a backpack (see pics). All 100 cards are accounted for in each set, but WoTC lies and counts cards containing advertising as part of that 100 cards. All blank cards are still blank.
Warning: does not include dice, 4e books, or a gaming group with an attention span long enough that you might actually get to use these cards.
Option D: Reality is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World (MP3 CD Audiobook)
Condition: Great audiobook (!!) on using games t o educate and change behaviour. Disc is used and has superficial scratches on surface that are visible at the right angle (see pic), but do not impact the use of the disc and mp3s can be accessed without any errors.
Bidding: 1 -> 1 entry 5 -> 6 entries
Shipping: Free shipping to USA (any item) Free shipping for small items internationally (items B or D -- DnD Cards or Audiobook) Will contribute $10 USD towards international shipping on large items (if bids are less than 400 ). Free international shipping on any item if bids reach 400
Draw Date: Sunday December 30th 8PM EST using method described in header
edit1: clarified shipping (hopefully) edit2: changed to free international shipping on the two smaller items
