For those that don't know what it is, a white elephant gift exchange is a gift exchange where a group of people (say your friends at a Christmas party) each bring a wrapped cheap gift that will be exchanged. There are different ways to do it, but generally, each person draws a number, and in order, gets to decide to take a wrapped gift, or to steal a gift from someone that chose earlier in the round (which in turn they can take a new gift or steal from someone else, usually with a limit of how many steals can happen in a round). At the end, everyone has a gift.

Sometimes there's a low dollar limit to the value of a newly bought gift, but oftentimes, people just wrap up stuff they have lying around that they don't want anymore. And in my experience, there will be a person or two that brings something desirable, just to make things interesting. So you have an exchange that can be quite lively where you get your gift card to an electronics store stolen, only to end up with someone's homemade knitted hat and scarf in a nice putrid green color.

So for this hypothetical white elephant exchange, list the game from your collection that you would wrap up and give away, and why.

This is a game my wife got for Christmas one year from her mother. Her mom just heard its a hit with ladies that will play in groups, so she got it for my wife.

That was probably 5 years ago, and we still have it in shrink. I'm not even sure it can be considered a game due to having absolutely no control of the outcome. You just roll dice and hope for the target numbers to come up.

This is definitely the one I would be wrapping up if I were giving a game away. Battle of the Sexes would be a close second.

I got this game several years ago. Played it maybe twice.

It's a nicely themed quick game, but it didn't go over so well with the playgroup. This was due mostly to the need to know all the role cards and their abilities and that slowed the game down a lot.

I'd probably bring this one because I really don't like the game. However, I would consider Mousetrap or one of the lego games the boys have dismantled.

My wife got this one year thinking it would be a fun game to play.

Oh how wrong she was. A worthless roll and move. The point of the game is it gives you a list of descriptions that supposedly have a sexual overtone. These are supposed to lead you to come up with a non-sexual answer. The problem is half the time things aren't sexual, the clues are so terrible no one could figure it out, or they are so completely obvious anyone could figure it out.

Fun fact: One day I was in Barnes and Noble and I saw a lady walking around with this box. I said if you are buying that for someone it is the worst game I have ever played. She looked at me strangely and said, "Oh, I just love it, it's my favorite game." I turned and walked away. My only thought is she can't have played much else.

This actually very likely might end up as a white elephant gift this year. It's fun, easy to play and teach, very lightweight and approachable, and I regularly find really nice copies of it at thrift stores for a few dollars. Plus, as soon as the gift exchange is done, we can crack it open and play

As far as I remember white elephant gifts are usually terrible. So thus the worst game I own, perhaps one of the worst ever? Who ever ends up with this is in for a sad Christmas...

I actually did give this in a White Elephant, partly because I had two copies and partly because I never play it anyway.

It was happily stolen by the hosts of the party, and I got in return an old and loose Toronto Maple Leafs themed Rubrik's Cube shake

This would definitely be my White Elephant gift. The pewter figures are very nice, the game looks interesting but the gameplay is horrible. The rules are even worse. I tried to play this once and decided against it.
