We had a good turnout this week (17ish people). This is the gaming group for the r/miami subreddit from Reddit.com. We started in June and meet, more or less, every other Sunday from around 1PM to 6PM. This was our 11th session. Message me if you're around the Miami area and are interested in more details. We also crossposted the event on Meetup.com for the first time, which got about three new people who wouldn't have otherwise known about the event.

The last meetups session report is here: http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/149759/rmiami-boardgamers-...

I just got Agricola: The Goodies Expansion in the black Friday CSI sale. That was first on the table. We played a five player game which took quite some time (about 3 hours). Then again, of the five of us, one player had played once, I had played a few times, and the other three had never played. So it took a while to teach everyone the rules.

We played the family game version to make it easier on the new folks. The addition of the meeples and more colorful boards in the Goodies Expansion definitely makes the game a little prettier. It also makes it a lot easier to remember which is which between wood and clay. In the base set, those tokens look pretty similar.

The game wound up being a lot of fun. The final scores were (if I remember correctly): 30/18/15/15/12.

A lot more people arrived during the Agricola game. One subset of them (four people, I think), decided to play some Carcassonne. I didn't watch too closely, but it looked like a blowout by the end. One nice part is that someone that I taught how to play was in the game teaching the game to some new people.

Also during the Agricola game, another group of around four people was playing some Citadels. They finished one game but I'm not sure how it turned out. They started another but pretty quickly into it they were interrupted to take part in the next item.

Thirteen of us played Ultimate Werewolf: Ultimate Edition with the Night Terrors expansion. The first game was quite standard, using only villagers, a seer (Sheriff/cop role in mafia), three werewolves, and a priest (doctor in mafia). I was a villager and got killed on night two. I payed a lot less attention after that, but I believe the village team won with about four living villagers at the end.

Then we played another game. This time I narrated. We used a lot of roles like the Masons, the wolf cub, etc. There were 12 of us left for this game and there were only 3 villagers. The werewolf team won with the wolf cub and one werewolf remaining, overtaking a village of a beholder and a prince.

Our third and final game also had many specific roles, including the Thing, a Vampire, the Tanner, the PI, and the Old Man, and the Ghost. This was my first time playing with the ghost. Definitely an interesting role. I narrated this game as well and the village team wound up winning.

Overall, it seemed like everyone was having a good time.
