Let's play a little game of IMAGE ROULETTE!Recommend
Here's how it works: Get yourself a d10 - you DO have one of those, don't you? If not, you can try this one:
What we are going to do is generate a random number with a 'max value' of 1497386, which is the image number of the newest image in browse mode with 'recent' selected as the sorting preference.
So if you're rolling this the olde fashioned way, just do odd/even = 1/0 on a d10 to get the first digit. Then, if the first digit is a 1, the third digit can't be higher than 7 (the second digit can be up to 9, so no restriction there). I think you get the idea. If you hit a number that's too high, just roll it again.
Also remember, if you have a d10 that has an actual '10' on it and not a zero, that's a zero.
Okay, now take the number you generated and test it in the address bar of a browser tab, starting with http://boardgamegeek.com/image/#######. The ##'s are your number. If the image works, skip to the next paragraph. If it doesn't work, just re-roll the last digit until you find one that does, or whatever digit floats your boat. A lot of numbers come up 'not found' due to being deleted, or because they were denied in GeekMod.
Now take your good image and create a GeekList Item, and either:
1) Insert the image in the body of the GL item by using the following (without spaces) [ ImageID=####### ]
2) Insert the image number in the image id box for the GL item itself.
I've allowed RPG's and Video Games also to make it extra fun!
Now, there are two ways to do this:
If the image is associated with a specific game, just post the GL item as the game itself. Maybe post some comments about what a great/horrible/awesome/pathetic game it is, or just roll your eyes at why anyone would play such a thing.
If the image is not associated with a specific game, and is just some weird thing from someone's gallery, select a humorous game tie in as the GL item, and have fun with it.
Maybe we'll get to learn about some games we never knew about.
Okay, I'll start:
